The wind blew into the camp, making a soft but chilling blanket cover it.
Adder'Flare sat near the edge on the high rock, waiting for Owl'Star to call a meeting.
"Let all cats old enough to climb the mountains, please gather under the highrock for a clan meeting!" Owl'Star bellowed while bounding up the highrock as morning light filtered through the camp.
"Adder'Flare will send out patrols," Owl'Star said as Adder'Flare nodded towards Owl'Star then turned her gaze to the cats below her.
"Twig'Strike and Python'Snap will go on hunting patrols," Adder'Flare said while glaring at the clan.
Python'Snap nodded as her tail flicked in the light that came from above.
"You may go when the meeting is dismissed. Also, we have three new apprentices, Soil'Kit, Violet'Kit and Snow'Kit!" Owl'Star smiled
"Soil'Kit, from this day on, you shall be known as Soil'Paw until you earn your warrior name. You will be mentored by Sky'Leaf," she smiled.
Soil'Paw sat up straighter, his snout beaming.
"Snow'Kit, from this day on you will be known as Snow'Paw until you receive your warrior name. Adder'Flare shall mentor you." Owl'Star said, in a soft tone. Adder'Flare glared at the small apprentice with disgust.
"And finally, Violet'Kit. From this day on, you shall be the medicine apprentice until you earn you medicine cat name. Your mentor is Blossom'Foot. "
Blossom'Foot sat outside of the medicine den waiting, and staring with her evil and piercing eyes at the leader.
Blossom'Foot stood up, with a 'happy' pounce as she leapt towards the cats gathered below the high rock.
"I have heard some rumors of evil cats, but I will not let that hold back our clan from greatness. I heard some are even traitors." Adder'Flare mewed, the word traitors slipping off of her tongue slyly. She continued to the clan as she shot a smirk to Blossom'Foot, knowing they where apart of her plan.
Blossom'Foot let out a small but menacing growl as she shot a glare towards the deputy.
"Meeting dismissed," Owl'Star said while leaping off the highrock.
"We should start training," Adder'Flare said too Snow'Paw.
The two cats ran out of the clan camp entrance going towards the dirt thunderpath.
"Where are we going?-" Snow'Paw asked quietly.
"uh...To the other side of the thunderpath, its a good place for hunting. Now you wait until you can cross," Adder'Flare said slowly.
A monster was going at full speed on the thunder path...then...Adder'Flare shoved Snow'Paw onto the thunderpath with her front paws, Snow'Paw let out a blood curdling scream then...-Silence-
"Now that's one cat gone," Adder'Flare thought quietly, then she picked up the small she-cat and raced back to camp with a 'worried and scared' face.
"LEADER! SNOW'PAW WAS HIT BY A MONSTER!" Adder'Flare panted, trying to sound as worried as she could, while she dragged the white limp body of the tiny apprentice behind her.
"What?" Python'Snap chirped from behind her, coming back from her hunting patrol, As Twig'Strike padded past her towards the fresh-kill pile.
''Yes, it was a horrible accident," Adder'Flare said, still trying to seem upset, "but I managed to save her. I will take her to Blossom'Foot now," she said, dragging Snow'Paw behind her.
Python'Snap gave a shiver, thinking of that thought as she dropped her mouse that she had caught.
"Blossom'Foot!" Adder'Flare called.
"Yes?" replied Blossom'Foot, slinking out from the crowd of cats.
"Snow'Paw has been hit by a monster!" Adder'Flare yelped.
"Oh dear,-" she meowed, her eyes slitted. "I will get the herbs as fast as I can!-Bring her to my den and put her in a nest."
Secretly, the leaf of thyme Blossom'Foot was about to give Snow'Paw, was infused with death berries. She winced softly.
"Here, eat this, it should make the pain better. " She said as Adder'Flare entered, placing the apprentice in a nest.
"Than--k you," the apprentice managed to say with a small and helpless chirp.
The young apprentice paused as she looked down at the herbs in her paws. A red substance had formed among the thyme where she had taken a bite.
"You poisoned me...?" Snow'Paw whispered.
