Sage'Cloud yawned, sitting up in her nest and shivering.
"So cold already?" Clover'Pool grumbled groggily, curling her tail in tighter.
"Yup-" Sage'Cloud sat up and padded out of the den, only to be met with the snow reaching a paw high.
"And snow too! Who knew?" She chuckled, continuing forward to start clearing some of the snow, just like some of the other awoken warriors.
Clover'Pool stood up out of her nest and padded over to the medicine den, where Pine'Snout was lying down in a moss bed.
"Hey mouse-brain! How's your paw?" Clover'Pool joked, and smiled brightly.
"Whatttt?-" Pine'Snout mumbled, lifting his head sleepily. "Oh heya Clover'Pool!" He beamed.
"How's the leg holding up?" Sage'Cloud appeared behind Clover'Pool.
"Its still broken, but Violet'Leap has been helping me!" Pine'Snout laughed.
Violet'Leap's head poked out of the herbal room.
"Oh! Hiya! Sorry I'm sorting herbs right now." Violet'Leap giggled. "Almost done, I'll be back in a shake of a tail!" She beamed and retreated into the sun-light den, with shelves almost everywhere, which were covered in herbs.
Clover'Pool nodded and crouched down next to Pine'Snout, peering at the broken leg.
"Clan meeting!" Adder'Star stood on the rock. She lifted her paw that had no fur on it, and sat down.
"Today dawn patrol had smelt dog. So please be careful in the snow. Also, I have something important to tell you all, Pyth-"
She couldn't finish her sentence. A bark sounded, and out came a Rottweiler, tearing through the foliage.
"DOG!" Sage'Cloud snarled, as she picked up Berry'Paw and looked for Clover'Pool in the crowd of fearful cats.
As the other cats ran into their dens, scattering around with bristling pelts, and slit eyes, Adder'Star spat in fury and leapt down off her rock.
"Scram you flea-bag!" She snarled, unsheathing her claws.
The dog let out an earsplitting howl, but the Maine Coon stood there, unfazed.
Adder'Star was the same size as the dog, if not a little bigger. It was a young one, but you never underestimate a dogs power. Adder'Star had to find that out the hard way once before.
She pounced forward to attack the dog.
She grabbed it by the neck and bit it, making it start to bleed.
The dog snarled, its jowls shedding slobber, as it barked sharply at Adder'Star and threw her against a rock.
She watched as blood dripped down from her mouth onto the snow.
Adder'Star shook her head. "I'm not afraid of you, you mutt! " She hissed and ran at the dog, clawing its side.
Adder'Star doubled over in pain and grunted as the dog put its paw on her chest, bashing her skull on a sharp rock. "So this is what dying feels like. - Python'Snap I'll be right back!-I Hope." Adder'Star choked out and lied on the snowy ground. Her chest was pinned under the dogs paws as it teared it open.
Adder'Star startled awake, and looked up to a starry figure.
"Hello Adder'Star!" Owl'Star beamed.
Adder'Star scrambled to her feet. "Leader!" Adder'Star smiled, bowing her head.
"Good to see you again. How are you?" The StarClan she-cat nodded.
"Good... but uh- dying hurts a lot-" Adder'Star blinked and sat down.
"Yea...but you'll wake up feeling better then ever, So let's look at your past life..." Owl'Star smiled, as the clouds swirled around gently.
"Its a lot of death could we skip that part?" Adder'Star peered down at her paws.
"Well, there are some in proud of." Owl'Star chuckled and showed Wave'Briar's death, causing Adder'Star to smirk.
"When you awake again, remember two things. The dog is still in front of you, and that the clan is depending on you. Things could go terribly wrong if you don't succeed." She dipped her head.
"Well it's time to go!" Owl'Star smiled "Buh-bye!" Owl'Star waved a paw and smiled.
Adder'Star looked up, and stared at the dog, her eyes narrowing.
She stood up sharply, and watched as it stalked forward towards at the dog.
It was padding forward, its teeth bared as it cornered Cream'Paw and Soil'Shift against the warrior den.
It growled, drool dripping from its maw as it eyes them.
Taking it by surprise, and pushing it into the warrior den, Adder'Star leapt forward.
She clawed its eyes, and it howled in pain, as it stepped on nests and backed into the bramble wall.
The dog snapped, now blind, barked.
Adder'Star unmercifully grabbed it by the throat, tearing it open and running her claws up to its nose. It whimpered in fear, rolling around helplessly. She watched as a clammy red liquid grew at her claws, as she held the canine still and strangled it.
Sage'Cloud came out with Berry'Paw behind her, both of their gazes clouded with worry.
"Adder'Star are you alright?" Violet'Leap rushed out of the medicine den.
"Yes, i'm fine. Thank StarClan, now SunClan!" Adder'Star yelled.
"Stay safe while you are resting may Star-Clan protect you! No patrols today." Adder'Star dragged the carcass out of camp and whisked herself into the Leader's Den.
~ The snow continued to fall gently, as the afternoon turned into dusk the night settled in like a cozy, dark blanket of clouds.~
