Cream'Paw bounced up in down, adrenaline pumping throughout him. His heart raced, his paws clammy. He couldn't stop grinning, his cheek muscles sore. Anxiety twisted in his stomach, making his shoulders tense.
Cotton'Paw padded over quietly, singing a tune and resting calmly.
Cream'Paw looked over, his heart pounding even harder.
"Eh he he, Hiya!" He chuckled nervously.
"Cream'Paw are you alright?- " Cotton'Paw giggled, her eyebrows raised in amusement. "Well are you ready to earn your warrior name today?"
Cream'Paw calmed down a bit, resting on his haunches. "Yeah... But what if I don't past?" Cream'Paw looked towards Cotton'Paw.
"You will, don't worry " Cotton'Paw got up swiftly, her ear flicking as she walked towards Python'Star who was motioning her over with a paw.
"Your first! Are you ready?" Python'Star smiled at Cotton'Paw as she gave a soft nod.
"Yup!" Cotton'Paw grinned back, warm morning sunlight filtering though the tree leaves. Python'Star chuckled, guiding the old apprentice out of the camp. The stopped at the entrance of camp, which was a small clearing scattered with flowers and soft grass. Small drops of morning dew scattered, as the cool breeze of the new day washed over them.
"Alright. Are you ready to show me what you learned?" Python'Star sat down on a rock outside of camp and looked down at Cotton'Paw with her paws tucked under her chest.
"Yes!" Cotton'Paw beamed.
"Then begin when you're ready. Begin when you're ready. There are two different sessions. First is hunting and the second is battling." Python'Star nodded at her softly.
Back at camp Cream'Paw was preparing with his mentor. But soon an elder would interrupt, purring with amusement. "Greetings, Cream'Paw." Missing'Foot sat next to Pine'Snout.
"So how is he doing?" Missing'Foot turned to Pine'Snout quizzically.
"Better than when we first started!" Pine'Snout laughed a bit.
"And how is Cotton'Paw? Is Cream'Paw still obsessed with her?" Missing'Foot chuckled.
Cream'Paw spun around away from the two. "I am not!" he blushed, deeply embarrassed. His face felt hot, and his ears flopped over.
"Okay. . if you're positive." Pine'Snout joined in the teasing.
"Pine'Snout stoppppppp." Cream'Paw whined shifting himself and pawing at his mentors face.
"Fine! - fine. . . but you two are cute together." Pine'Snout laughed.
"Pine'Snout!" Cream'Paw begged.
"Alright! Sorry. . " Pine'Snout broke down in a quiet laughter.
Soon Cotton'Paw came back into camp, bounding past the bustling cats and almost tripped over Cream'Paw. "Python'Star said i'm getting a name!" She said excitedly, her eyes wide.
"Wow! Thats awesome! I hope I get a name that's as awesome as yours." Cream'Paw was now blushing even harder.
"Hey mousebrain- you look sick. Your nose is all red." Cotton'Paw now sat down next to her mother, chuckling.
"Im fine" He mewed dismissively, placing a paw against his nose as if that would make it fine again.
"Cream'Paw! It's your turn!" Python'Star hollered, as she whisked him away and outside of camp. They went to the same place where Cotton'Paw had gone.
Python'Star climbed up onto a smaller rock. "Begin when you're ready. There are two different sessions. First is hunting and the second is battling." she smiled.
