Sage'Cloud felt her stomach rumble, as she quickly padded over to the prey pile and sifted through it for a moment.
The warm, new-leaf breeze drifted above her, as the smell of blooming flowers and petrichor floated along the air currents.
Sage'Cloud took a deep breath, and smiled softly. She picked up her mouse, and slowly made her way back to the center of camp.
Soon enough, Clover'Pool was bouncing over and grinning. "It's such a lovely day!" She'd mew happily.
Sage'Cloud looked over, her eyes softening. "Why hello, Deputy!" The word slid out of her mouth so smoothly. She was addressing the perfect person to use this word on. "It is, isn't it?" She smiled.
Clover'Pool stretched out her front paws, fluffing her fur out and yawning. She wiggled excitedly, plopping down next to her friend and looking up. "Hiii! Oh , Hey uh, . . I've been meaning to talk to you. . " Clover'Pool said after a moment.
"What about?-" Sage'Cloud replied, her whiskers twitching. She was abruptly cut off by Python'Star, calling the meeting.
"Hey ya'll! Today we'll have the our deputy sending out morning patrols this lovely morning. I wish happy tails. " Python'Star gave a small wink at her joke and with a satisfied smile she dipped her head.
"Oh- uh. . excuse me!" Clover'Pool yelped. The damsel rushed over and bounced onto the highrock's lower ledge. "Okie dokie. Everyone gather for morning patrols!" She hollered.
Sage'Cloud watched intently. What was she going to tell her? After a moment, she rose to her paws and yawned. Her ear swiveled to the left, her tail flicking in amusement. She chuckled and padded over, sitting down and dipping her head. After a moment of silence, the camp unmoving, "Maybe yell a tad bit louder?" She smiled at Clover'Pool.
"Oh dear- uh. . . HEY GUYS! COME FOR PATROLS PLEASE!" She yowled louder than before.
They clan's eyes turned as they all began to pad up to the rock below the hollering dame.
"Sorry Clover'Pool," Birch'Fall made an awkward laugh, his eyes lowering.
"Ack- sorry hun." Rose'Skull mewed, tipping her head in agreement.
"Your fine!" Clover'Pool beamed.
Sage'Cloud always loved how she forgave everyone like that. So quickly and managing to do it while smiling? Clover'Pool truly was one of a kind. Her stomach churned anxiously.
Clover'Pool's eyes narrowed in concentration. "Okay . . . with Gray'Fire leading, Birch'Fall, and uhhh Petal'Thorn, can you please take border patrol? "
Gray'Fire, Birch'Fall, and Petal'Thorn all nodded, padding out of camp together.
"Mk. . well, I suppose it's just us this morning. All the other warriors took night patrol. . so they can sleep in." Clover'Pool mewed thoughtfully.
"Sounds good!" Sage'Cloud agreed, her Russian Blue coloured tail flicking in the morning sunlight.
Clover'Pool dipped her head, leaping down. The two padded out of camp, side-by-side.
They followed the dirt path, carved by the ancestors of SunClan as they made their way past the deep stream, up the side of the mountain and curving up to the rocky ledges.
"So what did you wanna tell me at camp?" Sage'Cloud insisted. The two sat down, the forest cover encasing them. They watched as the morning dew twinkled, and the sun shone brightly on the territories.
"Well-" Clover'Pool managed to get out, before rustling sounded behind her. The two whipped around to face the brush.
A rabbit's tan pelt sifted though the twigs, not yet noticing the two felines. Clover'Pool leapt forward, chasing the rabbit as it bolted up hill. She leapt so far she tumbled in front of it, but she quickly swatted it with her paw bluntly, breaking its neck.
