Chapter 14~Something New

Sage'Cloud yawned, and shifted in her nest. 

Her eyes where still closed, as the warm embrace of her dreams slid away, and the soft scent of the warriors den filled her. 

She lifted her sleepy eyes and looked to Clover'Pool, who was sitting at the entrance and had a soft smile across her face.

 "Good morning sleepy head!" Clover'Pool giggled as Sage'Cloud mumbled something, stretching her front paws.

"Have you been waiting?" Sage'Cloud asked, getting up and cleaning her fur.

"Yea, It's fine. I woke up a few minutes ago anyways." Clover'Pool responded.

Sage'Cloud nodded, standing up.

The two padded out of the den, and padded to the fresh-kill pile. 

Sage'Cloud picked up a large sparrow, and Clover'Pool grabbed a plump mouse.

The two sat down in front of the Highrock, eating their food and talking back and forth. 

 "Clan meeting!" Adder'Star said, her tail shifting.

The Sage'Cloud and Clover'Pool looked up, as cats began to gather around them. 

 "May all cats old enough to bear the cold of rapid rocks, join me under the highrock!" Adder'Star down, her expression awkward.

 "Today we had found a...-" Adder'Star lifted her tail to show a small ball of fluff, its pale grey fur scattered with red.  

"A-A kittypet?!" Gray'Fire's growl echoing above the shocked crowd.

 "Yes. Her name is Berry...Well was. Her name is Berry'Paw now, and was found close to the borders, found by dawn patrol just this morning. She was badly injured so we will be taking her in." Adder'Star smiled.

The cats where busy talking to each other, not paying very much attention.

"All cats, quiet down!"  Python'Snap called, And almost instantly the camp when silent.

"Sage'Cloud will be your mentor," Adder'Star looked to Sage'Cloud who smiled at the small cat, her eyes softening.  

"Meeting dismissed."

Berry'Paw protested as Adder'Star picked her up and slid down the Highrock. 

Adder'Star placed Berry'Paw on the ground, and murmured something in her ear, nudging her forward. 

"Hello! I'm Sage'Cloud! I'll be your mentor." Sage'Cloud introduced herself to the frightened cat.

"Today's training, you may choose. Do you want a tour of Sun-Clans camp and territory? Or do you want to practice battle moves or hunting?" Sage'Cloud asked as they walked side by side to the entrance. 

Clover'Pool soon joined her and Berry'Paw. 

Sage'Cloud looked to her other side and smiled, dipping her head as a way of saying hello. Clover'Pool did the same, as the two brushed against each other. 

"A Tour I guess?" Berry'Paw looked too Clover'Pool. 

"Sure!" Sage'Cloud smiled. 

They kept walking, and after a few moments of silence Berry'Paw's gaze displayed she was deep in a thought. 

"Mentor? Am I saying that right?" Berry'Paw looked too Sage'Cloud for help.

 "Yep! You're saying it right!" Sage'Cloud chuckled at the new apprentice. 

"Okay just checking.-" Berry'Paw nodded as her kittyPet collar jingled from her neck. 

"Also, Are you two-" Berry'Paw asked, leaping up onto a stump, her collar chiming loudly. 

 "Adder'Star should get rid of that-Its quite distracting..No offense.." Clover'Pool chirped, cutting in by accident. 

"Could I finish what I was saying?!" Berry'Paw growled, her nose scrunching up and her ears pulling back, clearly irritated.

"Oh-Sorry! Go ahead." Clover'Pool smiled awkwardly. 

"Thank you." Berry'Paw sighed.

"Now. Is my mentor your mate?" Berry'Paw looked to Clover'Pool, then back to Sage'Cloud smirking. 

"Wha-t?! No! we are friends" Sage'Cloud's blue snout was burning red at this point.

 "..." Clover'Pool remained silent, refusing to say a single word in return to the apprentices remark. 

"Just friends? Really you guys look like mates." Berry'Paw smiled. 

"I-Er- Well go over that later.-or never? or---- We have more important matters too attend. for now we have training to do!" Sage'Cloud whisked Berry'Paw to the exit of the camp to start training.
