"Clan meeting" Owl'Star bellowed, her voice echoing throughout the camp.
She flicked her tail, as she padded up the high rock her gaze fell below the rock and to the ground.
She looked up. "Hello everyone! I need Adder'Flare to send out night patrols soon, but before she does, we need to discuss something." She paused before finishing her sentence.
"There was another death... Or something close to it.." She said slowly, as the cats below her lifted their heads up at the leaders remark.
"Sky'Leaf did not come back from patrol..So she was taken or killed that question remains unanswered. " She choked back a few dry tears.
"Now Adder'Flare you may pick patrols now." Owl'Star said, sitting up straighter wiping her face with a paw.
"Python'Snap and Birch'Fall , you two will be patrols." Adder'Flare said, As she gave a quick nod towards the exit of the camp.
"Meeting dismissed." Owl'Star said.
Python'Snap stood up and waited at the entrance for Birch'Fall.
"Lets go." Python'Snap said, as she stood up when Birch'Fall approached.
"Alrighty!" Birch'Fall smiled.
The two walked out of the camp, and padded towards a small spot where a cliff jutting out of the mountain that hung above the large dirt path that was made by the cats passing through.
Birch'Fall looked up at it, slowing down his pace to admire the sight of the trees and plants that grew up there.
Python'Snap paused, straining her ears to listen for foot steps behind her. -They were there, Just slow.-She looked behind her and watched him for a moment.
"You alright?" She asked, coming to a near stop.
"Yup! Just admiring the mountain is all." He nodded, and smiled.
"Alright." She said speeding up again, Birch'Fall doing the same.
They continued on their route, As Python'Snap focused by looking at every shadow around her.
She lifted her head, her ears listening to the slightest movement within her hearing range.-Nothing yet, but heavy footsteps in the distance.- "Bison probably." She whispered to herself reassuringly.
She paused and watched the moon above her taking a quick break from walking.
"Tired?" Birch'Fall asked, sitting down.
"Yea..not bad though, I just need a breath." She's said, looking at him for a moment, her light green eyes shining brightly in the moonlight.
She sat down and yawned, thinking for a moment.
"Can I tell you something?" She asked in a near whisper.
"Just promise me you won't tell anyone.." She said slowly, her ears perking.
"Uh-Sure..." Birch'Fall replied, a sliver of hope glimmering in his eyes.
She sat for a moment and listened. -Nothing.-
"Alright...All clear, Now, Yesterday Blossom'Foot and Sky'Leaf went on herb patrol..And when Blossom'Foot came back, she was spotless, No scratch's or anything that seemed like an injury that I could see."
That hopeful gaze Birch'Fall held disappeared, but was quickly replaced with curiosity.
She went on. "And Sky'Leaf was with another warrior- and there's no way she just sat there and let Sky'Leaf get taken.-Not with out fighting to save her."
"And if that's not the case, then she killed her. Because if you think about it, she could have covered up any scratch's to seem like nothing happened." She concluded.
Birch'Fall nodded, It all made sense.
"How are we gonna manage this though?" He asked.
"We could, tell the leader." She thought for a moment.
"Would she believe us though?" Birch'Fall countered.
"No..Your right she wouldn't believe us, A Medicine-Cat killing someone just sound silly."
Birch'Fall nodded in agreement.
"Then we keep this a secret until we have more evidence.." Python'Snap sighed, as she looked up at the sky as the moon drifted down and nearly behind the mountain.
"We should head back." Python'Snap said sitting up.
Birch'Fall nodded and stood up as well.
~The two went back to camp, the newly found secret still lied untold.~
