Cream'Paw looked to his side and smiled at Cotton'Paw.
The pale she-cat smiled back, making Cream'Paws heart twist.
"Good morning!" Cotton'Paw smiled.
"Morning!" Cream'Paw giggled.
"May all cats old enough to climb the mountain please join me under the high rock." Adder'Star gazed down at the cats smiling softly.
"Today we 'Mourn' the loss of our warrior, Forest'Scar." She sat up straighter.
"Let's hope he makes it Star-Clan" Adder'Star mumbled.
"Anyway, deputy what are the patrols for today?"
"For hunting patrol, Pine'Snout and Sage'Cloud, you both can take your apprentices if you choose to." Python'Snap smiled.
"I spoke to Violet'Leap this morning, she said we are good on herbs." Python'Snap turned to Adder'Star who nodded.
"Meeting dismissed enjoy your day!" Adder'Star smiled and went into her den.
"Come on Cream'Paw!" Pine'Snout tripped on a rock and stood right up again.
"Mouse-brain try and learn how to walk! I might take you seriously if you do." Sage'Cloud chuckled.
"Give me a break." Pine'Snout laughed.
"Hi! Are you the new apprentice?" Cream'Paw started to walk next to Berry'Paw.
"Yeah- Are you er--Cream'Paw?" Berry'Paw looked up at him and smiled.
"Yup!" Cream'Paw smiled back.
"Shush! There's a bird." Sage'Cloud's tail brushed their snouts, as she went flat as a pancake and unsheathed her claws.
A bird sat on the ground pecking at a worm.
Sage'Cloud jumped on the bird killing it with a swoop of her paw.
"I got it!" Sage'Cloud stood up and smiled with the bird in her mouth.
"Great catch! We need more prey though." Pine'Snout started to walk with the rest of the group.
A rabbit stood eating clovers at the edge rapid rocks.
"Could I get this one?" Berry'Paw spoke up.
"Sure! I taught you how to hunt, so you should be able to get this one." Sage'Cloud smiled.
Berry'Paw dipped her head, and crouched down.
Her tail grazed against the ground lightly, as she jumped and clawed the rabbit.
"Got it! I Got it!" She Chimed with a laugh.
"Good job!" Sage'Cloud smiled and patted Berry'Paw's head with a paw.
"Okay let's go?" Pine'Snout avoided tripping on a rock.
The group started to walk back.
"What's that?" Cream'Paw paused, looking up at the pair of shadowy wings above him.
And just then he was grabbed by a large bird, brown feathers encasing the apprentice.
"Ack! Help!" Cream'Paw screeched in terror as he got lifted up into the air.
"What in the name of Star-Clan!?-" Pine'Snout leapt forward without thinking and got onto his hind legs, trying to grab the cat.
Failing and having his front paws thump against the ground, his hazel eyes glazing with determination.
"Help me!" Cream'Paw yelped.
The hawk's talons looked like they were digging into Cream'Paws tan, bristling fur.
Pine'Snout grabbed onto Cream'Paws foot.
"Someone grab my foot! This hawk is carrying two cats and still kind of flying!" Pine'Snout yelled.
"Berry'Paw could you do me a favor and stay here?" Sage'Cloud demanded as she tried to grab Pine'Snouts foot, continuing to reach for what ever was closest to her.
"But I want to help!" Berry'Paw said.
"Okay, go back to camp and ask for help." Sage'Cloud grabbed Pine'Snouts tail.
"Ow! I Asked for you to grab my paw not my tail mouse-Brain!" Pine'Snout whined.
"Deal With it!" Sage'Cloud spat.
The hawk let go of the apprentice and made the three cats tumble to the ground.
"Oh my star-clan! Cream'Paw are you alright?!" Sage'Cloud ran over to Cream'Paw, her gaze clouding with worry.
Cream'Paw laughed.
"Oh, my Star-Clan he's gone mad--" Sage'Cloud replied to herself.
"I'm alright but can we go back to the clan--please?" Cream'Paw stood up shakily, rubbing his belt down.
"Yep lets go." Pine'Snout grabbed Cream'Paw and put him on his back.
"Free piggyback ride-heck yeah!" Cream'Paw shouted.
"Shush." Pine'Snout laughed.
"Oh they're back!" Clover'Pool yelped and ran straight to Sage'Cloud.
"I thought you were dead! You are never going on hunting patrol ever again!" Clover'Pool scolded.
"Its good to see that everyone is alright. Tomorrow I'm not letting any apprentices on patrols for safety precautions." Adder'Star mumbled.
