The battle patrol came bounding back into camp.
They reached the leaders den to see Adder'Star walking out. "Hello, warriors." She smiled, yet she seemed troubled. "And apprentices.
"Hello! We scared the MoonClan patrol." Cotton'Paw smiled.
"Lovely! Now we shall have a clan meeting to tell your story." Adder'Star grinned.
"Hello! May you all join me under the high rock." She looked at her deputy and let out a soft sigh. "Today we celebrate our victory against Moon-Clan once again." She chuckled.
"The war is over again!" She sighed once more. "Sadly, I have something to say to you all." Adder'Star looked down at the clan.
"I will be retiring, so say hello to your new leader, Python'Star." Adder'Star looked at Python'Snap and said, " I will be known as Adder'Flare now." Adder'Flare mewed softly.
"Python'Star I know you will do well, in being a leader and picking a new deputy." Adder'Flare smiled gave a small dip of her head, and leaped off of the high rock.
Python'Star looked around at the cats who stepped up for the role of deputy. She eyed Clover'Pool, Birch'Fall and Rose'Skull. She didn't want to be bias towards Birch'Fall so she said, "Clover'Pool. Do you swear upon StarClan that you will protect the clan until your last breath? The role of the deputy of SunClan?" She nodded towards Birch'Fall who looked disappointed, but he understood.
"I swear I will protect this clan with my life. Our clan will be strong, as it has always been." Clover'Pool smiled as she hopped onto the high rock.
"I must make my journey to the MoonStone. Meeting Dismissed" Python'Star smiled and leapt down.
She started to run out of camp, watching as the trees became a swirl of green. Adrenaline flooded her veins, pushing her to her limits of running.
It was over in a flash when she reached the Mothermouth and grinned, stepping into the dark tunnel. The eerie silence sent small chills down her spine, the scent of moss flooding her mouth.
She watched in awe as the glowing stone came in to view, and nearly blinded her.
"Sheesh! It's so bright in here." She giggled, resting herself down in front of the stone and pressed her head against it.
She felt herself blackout, her eyes shutting almost instantly as soon as the smooth stone touched her fur.
After a few moments, she heard muffled speaking. She opened her eyes, and stared in awe as stars seemed to be right beside her.
"Hello, Python'Star" A voice said.
She looked up to see Sun'Star, the first leader of the clan. She remembered learning about her as an apprentice.
"I believe it's time to greet our new leader," Another voice said. "Owl'Star?!" Python'Star gasped. "Yes, I'm here dear!" Owl'Star beamed.
"Now, Now. Python'Star we will give you 9 lives, use them wisely." Sun'Star added. Sun'Star pressed her nose against Python'Star's. Soon Owl'Star came over and did the same, planting a soft lick on the new leaders head.
She sat back down. She hadn't even realized she had stood up.
"And, Python'Star. Before you go, I must tell you. All the recent deaths besides Blossom'Foot's where because of Adder'Flare. I figured she was only trying to drive me mad into giving up leader. " Owl'Star let a soft snort escape her maw. "She's quite nice now. She finally saw how hard being leader is now. Mind you, its been 24 moons since I died-"
Python'Star gave a soft nod of her head. "Alright. I'll make sure she doesn't get into anymore mischief." She joked.
"Thanks." Owl'Star giggled. "Alrighty. Now, Bye dear." She waved a paw.
Sun'Star's wise eyes turned to her and she dipped her head in a goodbye.
Python'Star woke up once more. She exited the cave, and made her way home.
~The stars above looking like cats watching her, the glowing hue seeming mystical this evening.~
