Chapter 16: A Fun Day At The Beach!

It is now June 29th, around nighttime. Hibiki just logged off of a Hopecord call with her classmates and friends from class 79-A and 79-B. They apparently talked about plans on going to the beach the next day.

The whole idea started from Yuki's suggestion after Yamato questioned what to do for the last day of pride month (AKA the last day of June). Yamato eventually asked Yuki if the lucky student had any ideas, in which he does, luckily.

They then logged into a Hopecord call around 7:30 PM to discuss a little further. They finally came to a conclusion that they'll actually go have a fun day at the beach tomorrow. Now, Hibiki is packing up for tomorrow while listening to her favorite idol group sing a sweet love song, her favorite type of songs.

She definitely is excited for tomorrow. It has been a hot minute since she last went to a beach, and now that it's summer, it's absolutely perfect!

After awhile of packing, she eventually hopped on her bed and went to sleep.

The next day, everyone decided to go to the beach using a van that Yamato somehow has at his and Mikako's house. They had to go there first to get it.

Yamato insisted that he can drive, which Tsurugi is unsure about at first, but after a lot of pleading and begging from the inventor, the police officer just let him drive either way.

Let's just hope he doesn't drive them off to a cliff.

Meanwhile, Hajime decided to drive some of the others to the beach with his own car. Since when did he fucking get it? Nobody knows. What matters is that he has a driving license, so they can trust him with his driving skills.

Wait, can minors who are like, 15 to 16 to 17 years old even have driving licenses? Eh, even I don't know, especially the author. Whatever, this is just fiction anyways, so it doesn't matter anymore.

Finally, the rest decided to just take separate taxis. Perfect solution, I guess!

After a few hours, they managed to make it to the beach. The sun is shining bright, and the sand is soft as fuck! The water looks cool enough to cool them off on this hot and sunny day, so that's a plus!

As soon as they hopped out of the van/car/taxis, most of them immediately ran over to the beach and into the water. Some others decided to just chill and relax.

Iroha and Kanade were making sand castles together! How cute! Hibiki already went into the water with Setsuka. Yamato also went into the water with......Tsurugi? Huh, I guess more begging was involved for that to happen. Sheesh, Yamato....

Haru, Satsuki, and Teruya obviously went into the water and started splashing each other with water. Typical sunshine trio. Yuki was hesitant to go into the water at first, but after a lot of begging ONCE AGAIN!.....By Akane, Yuki got into the water at last. Sora went into the water too, while Yoruko decided to sunbathe. Emma also decided to sunbathe. Along with Kokoro, Rei, Kinji, Mikako, and Kizuna, they all sunbathed in peace.

Utsuro and Syobai decided to just watch from a far and not get into the water. Kanata dragged Kakeru into the water somehow. Akane not only made Yuki go into the water, but also Ayame. Kiyoka obviously has a water gun with her and started shooting water at everyone in the water. Hibiki and Yamato luckily have one too, so they shot back at Kiyoka.

Hajime and Shinji are just being their lifeguards. Yuri decided to eventually join in with the ones who are sunbathing to.....well, sunbathe, obviously, even if Kinji, a male, is there. Nikei decided to forcefully drag Mikado into the water, even though the wizard didn't want to at first.

Awhile has passed, and Yamato and Tsurugi decided to stop playing around in the water for a bit and decided to get something to eat.

"Hey, you want some ice cream? I'll buy some for you!" Yamato offered. "Ah, sure. I'd like some ice cream in a hot weather like this." Tsurugi answered, nodding. "Okay! Be right back~!" Yamato exclaimed, then ran off to the a nearby ice cream store or whatever.

Yamato eventually made it there and eventually bought two ice creams afterwards. However, when he was about to go back to Tsurugi, he saw someone.

Didn't he saw this girl before? Isn't she his upperclassman? Isn't that....

Airi Suzumiya, the Ultimate Lyricist?

"Oh?! Airi!" He called out to the magenta haired girl. The lyricist looked over to the inventor and waved her hand and walked towards him.

"Ah, Kisaragi. I wasn't expecting you to be here out of all places." She said, giggling afterwards. Airi appeared to be in a swimsuit, obviously. She's also holding a popsicle. "Haha! Yeah...." Yamato said, scratching the back of his head. It's not itchy though.

"Oh, looks like you got a popsicle there, huh?" Yamato asked, looking over to the popsicle his upperclassman is holding. "Well, yes. I did bought a popsicle from that ice cream store you seem to just walked out of." She answered, pointing over to the ice cream store he came to earlier.

"Eh??!! They sell popsicles too?!" He asked in disbelief, to which Airi nodded. "Uwah.....I never knew....I didn't saw any popsicles there. I guess I just didn't notice." He said. "Haha, I see." Airi giggled.

"Well then, I have to go now, Miyuki is waiting for me over there." Airi spoke up again, pointing to the direction she was going to. "Besides, your boyfriend is waiting for you, right?"

"E-eh?! A-ah! Yes! Of course! I almost forgot! I don't want these to melt, hehe!" Yamato nervously exclaimed. "Well alright then, see you later." Airi waved her hand again.

...

With that same goddamn smile from last time.

It makes him uneasy.

Does she not notice that?

"H-HEEEEE????!!!!!" He accidentally yelled out. "Ah?! Is there something the matter...?" Airi asked, visible concern on her face. "N-N-NOTHING! BYE AIRI!!!!" Yamato yelled again, then fast walked past her, trying to be careful with the ice creams he's holding right now.

Airi just looked at him sadly.

The rest of the day went by and without them noticing, the sun is about to set. Nikei somehow bought a camera with him and took some pictures of the beautiful sunset.

After a little while of looking at the sun that was slowly setting, everyone decided to go back to Hope's Peak.

To most of them, today was fun. They'll try their best to remember it until then.
