A few days after that incident, things aren't really great. Maki and Kokichi still aren't on good terms, and the students are still not feeling good about it.

Kazuki walked through the hallways, carrying stuff he needs for the next lesson of the day. He's one of the students who are probably traumatized(?) by the sight of their own upperclassman choking the other one. Kazuki wondered why Maki wanted to keep a talent like assassin a secret.

Oh wait, he knows now.

I mean, why would Hope's Peak accept a talent like that anyway?

...

He shook his head and kept on walking to his next class, paying no mind to it.

How stupid.

He kept walking, until he noticed someone standing infront of their classroom. That someone being Asao Fukawa.

The lucky student approached him. "Um, hi?" He called, grabbing Asao's attention. "Oh, hi there." Asao said back. Well this certainly is a great way to start an awkward conversation.

Kazuki 'coughed' to break the silence. "Uh, anyways, why are you just standing over here? Aren't you gonna come in?" Kazuki asked curiously. Hearing this, Asao looked sad.

"Ah, well about that. I was about to, I was just thinking about the fact that a great friend of mine, Kara, is pretty distant from me lately. I wonder why..." The firefighter explained, with the lucky student nodding in understanding.

"Oh...I see..." Kazuki muttered.

It's now lunchtime for the students, and so Kazuki went to the now-burned-like-last-time dining hall alone. He wanted to ask Yukari to come with him, but it seems like she's already gonna have lunch with another student in this school.

He sighed as he sat down with the tray of food he has. He set the tray of food down at the table and then he started eating.

How odd, Kara has been distant from her friend Asao lately? Why? She's a nice person, surely something like that wouldn't happen.

"Um, hey." He heard someone call out to him. He turned around to see Yamato Kisaragi, who was holding his tray of food, sporting a sad looking smile to the lucky student.

"Huh? Aren't you Yamato Kisaragi?" Kazuki asked, earning a simple nod from the inventor.

"Wait, Hibiki started being distant to you too?" Kazuki asked, earning more nods from Yamato. "Uh-huh...I don't really know what happened. When I tried talking to her, she would either scoff, walk or run away, or look me in the eye angrily and just do one of the things I mentioned before." Yamato paused for a moment.

"I seriously don't know what happened. Did I do something wrong? Should I apologize...?" Yamato asked sadly. Kazuki only looked at him, feeling bad. "I'm not too sure. But I'm hoping things get better for you and her." He spoke. "Alright." Yamato responded, eating more of his food.

Kazuki thought back at all of the things he had heard. He heard that some other students' connections with their friends, siblings, or loved one got torn apart somehow.

Why though?

First off, the thing with Maki and Kokichi, and second of all, this?

What's going on?
