Historically, mermaids were thought of as a combination of women and birds. In early Greek art, they were often depicted as birds with women's heads, bird feathers, and scaly feet. Mermen are the counterparts of a mermaid, which are human males from the waist up and fish-like from the waist down.

Nowadays, they are usually defined as half-human and half-fish, which, isn't really something we can oppose of. The merfolk originally appeared to be male or female and was often seen, but around the fifth century BC, it was believed the mermen disappeared. Many thought the mermen had become extinct and such. However, that wasn't the case. It all began in a place in a beach, in one of the city-state in south-eastern Peloponnese. It was during the war between Athens and Sparta, the two most powerful city states in Ancient Greece.

Two paths from different worlds run into each other. And flowers bloom along with these paths, as they continue to move forward together.
