Over the span of a couple of weeks, Jaehyun had become a close friend of Taeyong's and Johnny's, despite his human nature. He visited Taeyong a number of times at his job, and saw just how much of an ace he was as a glassblower. His pyrokinesis made the job a lot cooler for himself, and for those that watched him work on his craft.

Taeyong also visited Jaehyun at his apartment many times, sometimes being accompanied by Johnny. They spent their time with the younger by helping him with his studies, and taking part in other activities he enjoyed. Jaehyun eventually figured out that the small restaurant in the dark alleyway accepted both humans and vampires, and invited his new friends to eat with him there when they were all free. Of course, the two vampires happily accepted his kind offer.

After Jaehyun got out of his last class for the day, he sat around with Johnny until he was done with his work. Afterwards, they went to pick up Taeyong from his job, finding him standing outside of the glassworks building and waiting for them. The three friends ventured to the small restaurant together, and made it there in just a few minutes. Once they were escorted to their table, they ordered their food and conversed with each other while they waited to be served.

"So Jaehyun, how's work been for you?"

Johnny asked, having already finished his food before the other two.

"It's going great. I really enjoy taking care of the flowers, so much that I don't even consider it a job. Sure, I get paid for it, but I consider it more of a fun hobby if anything"

"I understand. Actually, I feel the same way about my career as a professor. I really enjoy studying all aspects of anatomy, especially human anatomy. Your bodies are really interesting to me, but also a bit confusing.."

"I feel the same with my job as a glassblower. Getting to use my abilities to create works of art is really fun for me, and I love seeing the smiles on people's faces when they see what my coworkers and I create. I don't really get to use my abilities anywhere else, so it's a form of relaxation for me"

Johnny and Taeyong explained.

"Wait, you don't? But what about when you have to deal with...the hunters?"

Jaehyun made sure to whisper the last part of his question, trying not to upset any of the other vampires in the restaurant.

"We...don't really like to use our abilities against them, even if they give us a greater advantage. We might be more comfortable with using our abilities on them if we were in an area far off from the city. But using them within city limits with other humans around would only cause more problems for us"

Johnny sighed, sipping the last bit of his water.

"I see.. But...is it really all that bad if you're using them for self defense? It's not like you're going around using them to just inflict carnage around the city, and no other vampires have powers like you do. The humans that really know would be able to defend you in that case as well"

"Jaehyun does have a point.. I mean, we're not exactly living in peace since most of them keep coming after us. I'm not saying we should use our abilities against them, but his argument is valid in this case.."

Taeyong mumbled, eventually eating the last of his food.

"...I agree. But for now, I would like for us to refrain from using our abilities against them all together. We're already a hazard to humans as is"

"You're not a hazard. You refrain from using your powers and you refrain from consuming blood from humans. If anything, you're protecting humans from what they perceive as a danger. Humans always see anything they don't understand as a danger to them, but I don't. I don't want you, the others, or any of the other good vampires out there to think badly of yourselves just because of the humans' public opinion"

Jaehyun insisted, gaining surprised looks from his friends as well as the other vampires in the restaurant.

"Jaehyun..."

"...You really are something special. Thank you so much"

Taeyong and Johnny had never met a human like Jaehyun that was more on their side than his own species, and were overwhelmed with joy because of him.

"...Y-You know, we could always head out if you want. We can watch a movie at my place, or something.."

Jaehyun tried changing the subject, feeling his face heat up after seeing the heartwarming looks on their faces.

"Heh.. Sure thing. That sounds like fun"

Johnny called over their assigned waiter and paid their bill easily.

The three of them decided to go to the restroom before heading out so they could freshen up, and quickly left after they were done. They hadn't walked far at all after exiting the restaurant before Jaehyun suddenly got a bad feeling and stopped walking.

"Jaehyun? What's wrong?"

Johnny asked, concerned by the younger's abnormal behavior.

"Hyung.. Take Taeyong-hyung with you and hide. I think those hunters are back.."
