Nandini's pov
I closed the door on her and when I turned back I saw manik till shook which is understandable but he looked sort of broken by the new news.
"Manik" I called him sitting beside him, he looked up at me and gave me a small smile
"I understand you are upset but nothing has changed"
"Everything has changed nandini" he mumbled
"Nothing has changed, ashi is still our daughter, she may not be blood but who cares, she calls you papa, she looks for you as soon as she wakes up, she needs you before she sleep, her face glows when she is with you. She loves you manik, she is a child, she doesnt know the difference between blood and not blood. She chooses people based on their love towards her so who cares, you love her don't you?"
"I do" he said
"Perfect, ill make us some chowmein, and cupcakes" I said and he looked at me like I had murdered someone
"What" I asked
"Seriously, cupckaes" he asked
"Dude she loves cupcakes, her face lights up like a light bulb seeing them or any other sweets" I said being offended
"Nandini I mean this, everything that just happened, it is a lot to take in and you are talking about cupcakes" he said
"Manik life is too short to worry about such things, focus on the positive, you have ashi and me well I may be a side thing cause you know but ehh who cares, I have ashi too" I said laughing at myself
"You aren't a side thing nandini, I like you" he said
"You like me, oh my gosh the manik malhotra likes me, I mean ahh wait you like me, why wait no you can't like me, no no wait is this a dream, pinch me, actually no ill do it" I pinched myself and screamed at it hurting
"You are a disaster" her mummbled
"Excuse you" I said grabbing the plate from him
"Nandini yar" I could feel him following me
"You said im a disaster, well guess what you are a monster, yes a big monster, a very tall and handsome one but you are a monster and you know what even ashi thinks so she draws horns on you all the time well I taught her how to but you know" I blabbered but smacked my mouth as soon as I realized I called him a monster infront of him
"What did you call me" he asked
"Umm nothing, ahh see you woke up ashi" I said running outside the kitchen even tho I didnt hear ashi
I felt him pulling me back, making my back collide with his chest, my whole body shivered feeling his touch on me, it kind of made me happy that he was touching me but i can't get my hopes up, this was all a deal and I was forced to be his
"I heard something, what did you call me"
"Monster" I mummbled
"You know nandini, sometimes I wonder if you are the same nandini that used to stammer in front of me when you presented your designs"
"I am, I used be scared well I am still scared of you, but I think it has gone better" I said
"Im sorry for scaring you" he said sweetly in my ears giving me goosebumps
"No sir, its not you precisely its just your persona" I said and he laughed
"My persona" he asked laughing
"Yeah, umm you are so tall and bulky that it looks like a angry human walking, and you dont even smile much" I complained
"Babe I smile, just not with everyone but I smile with ashi and you" he said and I still wasn't able to digest the silly nickname he had given me
"Thats true" I said and he hmmed
This is when I realized his chin was on my shoulder, his lips were right beside my ear, his arms were wrapped around my waist freaking me out even more. I felt complete in that moment.
"Stop day dreaming mrs malhotra"
"Then stop distracting me mr malhotra" ahh shittt how could I even say that to him, he is gonna know ahh crap
"Oh I am distracting you" he asked and I shook my head
"No no I, woh toh ni esa ni hai I was just well, ahhh shut up" I said, he laughed in my ears making me smile
"You know you just told your boss to shut up" he whispered
"I know but that boss is also my husband so he cannot fire me and anyways I am great at handling your mood swings with the designs, no one would last" I said smirking
I wiggled out of his hold and walked upstairs to get ashy, "mrs malhotra would you want to talk later tonight about us" I heard his voice
"I would love to mr malhotra" I didn't even turn back but I knew he was smiling
I got in the room and saw ashi still sleeping but it 12 so with a half heart I caressed her hair
"Ashu wakey wakey" I said and she turned and laid on her back
"Baby its so late" she hummed
"Acha okay then ill give the brownies to papa then" I said and she hopped up
"Brownies" she mumbled
"Yes brownies, come on silly" I said and she got up hopping in my arms
"D" she said in my neck
"She is gone, she won't ever trouble you" I said and she kissed my cheek
"Milkshake" she asked
"Of course, we are having a party today, you me and papa, we can watch movies and play" I said
"Oh yessss" she yelled in my ear making me laugh
"Yess we are gonna trouble papa today" I said and she giggled
"Yes" she said
"Are you two conspiring against me" manik said looking up hearing us giggle
"Consporing" ashi said
"No baby its conspiring, meaning we are planning against papa"
"Yes we are" she mummbled
"No we aren't" I said playfully glaring at her and she made a opps face
"Ashu shh" I whispered and she nodded
"Nandini what are you two planing" he asked
"Umm we, no nothing, we were taking about eating brownies and milkshakes and stuff you know" I said trying to sound casual
"No I don't know, what stuff" he asked jeez is he always this interrogative
"Ashi go play with papa" I said putting her on Manik's lap
"Mumma milkshake" she wined
"Yes ill make you one, manik would you like one" I asked and he nodded
"What flavour" I asked and he scrunched his nose
"Umm whatever you are making for yourself" he said and I nodded
