Chapter 17

"Manik"

"What" he snapped at me

"Relax, breath, its okay its just a meeting why are you getting so hyper and angry" I said caressing his arm

"You don't get it, she is going to try taking her away from me" he said

"Okay and I know that you would never let that happen, when you stress you tend to let anger rule you so I need you to be calm especially when it comes to ashi" I said and he took a deep breath

"Fuck" he mummbled

"No swearing in her presence and finish this, I have things to do and you already know how my boss is, he will start becoming a monster and blah blah blah so come on" I said patting his back and he chuckled a little

"You are weird"

"I sure am, now go, I have to catch a cab" I said

"Ill drive, you don't need a cab anymore" he said

"Im no paying you but I might leave a good tip" I teased

"You weirdo, lets go" he said shoving the last bite in his mouth

I saw ashi walking down with my bag and her stuff, she looked so cute, she held onto the stairs walking down

"Aww mera bacha, why did you bring my bag, its heavy baby I would have gotten it" I said picking her up

"I wanted to help" she said smiling

"Aww well thank you baby"

"Welcome mumma" she kissed my cheeks

"Lets go or your papa will turn into the devil"

"With two horns" she said making me giggled

"Ya keep making fun of me, no chocolates for you two" we heard manik making ashi pout

"Ill get you some" I whispered in her ears and she giggled

The whole car ride was very quiet, way too quiet for my liking, manik was driving but his focus was definitely not there, ashi was grooving to the music that the playing and looking outside.

I knew he was stressed, I just didn't know what to say or do to calm his mind, I know the whole day he will be yelling at everyone. We reached the office and he didn't say a single word.

"Ashi baby is it okay if i go talk to papa for a second" I asked when we reached my cabin which Manik had switched since the last week, he got me to shift in the cabin right beside his and got a door built connecting our cabins

"Okay mumma" she said

"Baby stay here in the little fort okay, no leaving or walking around outside the cabin, if something happens or you get bored, come. To papa's cabin through that door" I explained and she nodded

I gave her a chocolate and she happily started munching on it playing with her building blocks, I walked to manik's cabin through the door. He was sitting there with his eyes closed and hands in his hair

"Manik"

"What are you doing here" he asked

"Trying to see how many people my husband opps sorry my boss has fired in the last 5 minutes, becasue obviously your pa will have to rehire them"

"You know me too well Nandini" he mummbled opening his eyes as I sat on the table infront of him

"Well that's exactly why I have your last name sir, so" I asked

"4" he said making me giggle

"Calm down, its not like you are going for a war, its just a meeting Manik, just a meeting, ill be here with ashi as well so why are you so worked up"
