After all the reasoning and realizations, Adeodatus still wonders... Why am I doing this, again? He asked himself for the nth time while staring at the sleeping kid on his lap and arms.
After eating their breakfast and resting for a while, Finn's head fell on his arm suddenly, the kid fell asleep, obviously.
He took some force and carried Finn before walking towards Horatius' bed, he stared at the boy for a couple of seconds before moving his gaze to his shackled feet, he reached for his lower back and massaged it slowly. He's not getting any better, after the servants tended to his injured knee now, he's experiencing body pain, Am I getting old or... the sex perhaps? Now, he's starting to admire endurance more and more. He successfully took Thelonius before and still managed to go on a fight the next day so... Now that I think about it, the two have quite the similarities from height, built and... bed performances.
Ade gleaned at the sleeping boy before looking around at the cabin, he stepped and tried his best to move swiftly but silently, he went to the chests, first. Trying to look for anything useful. He used his hands and brushed the clothes away, but he didn't find any, so he moved to the other wooden cabinets and started to search.
Weapon, ship's blueprint map or a compass. Those are the things that he's looking for. He's hoping to find any of those... he's praying for luck to find all of those, rather.
He's making a move since he can't just stay still and wait for his men to rescue him, besides it will take a lot of time for his men to locate him, especially that he is in the pirates' main ship, the Amity who's sailing continuously, they'll have a hard time to catch up since it's been sailing for two days nonstop.
"Fuck." he whispered when he didn't find anything after rummaging all the wooden cabinets and chests inside the cabin. All are personal stuff like Horatius clothes, bedsheets, and Finn's clothes. No hidden daggers or gold, even.
Ade turned his head when he heard the creaking sound of the door, "Did you ransack my things?" he asked after observing the chests beside Ade.
"Yes, I did." he admitted, no point of lying since he didn't find anything.
"Why? Searching for something?" Horace asked while silently walking towards Adeodatus.
"My sword and something that could help me to escape from here, what else?" he answered sarcastically.
"Your sword, I kept it hidden," the man answered after closing the chest, "In a safe place don't worry. And you can't have it."
Ade rolled his eyes, "Of course." but at least he has a lead now but it's not specific.
"You're done eating, I assume?" Horatius stated after glancing at the table, all plates are cleared.
Ade raised his brows, "For your information, that kid," he started and pointed at the sleeping boy, "...Finished almost everything, I barely ate."
"And why?"
"You see my body is aching, I can't enjoy the feast."
"Do you want anything then?" Horace offered, feeling a little pity for the man he railed last night.
"Yes." Ade answered in glee.
Horace's eyes twitched after seeing the expression of Ade, "What is it, then?"
"My sword."
"No."
