Adeodatus easily defeated the three pirates that went on their ship, but an unexpected lady suddenly jumped on the deck, "Oh, I can finally kill you." Sayyida stated after landing on her feet.
Ade released a smug smile, "That's my line, lady."
Sayyida made a circular movement of her sword by twisting her wrist, she raised her hand and ran towards Ade to hit the man, but the emperor was quick enough to block it using his own sword.
Ade moved his right foot and kick the woman causing Sayyida to fall on the floor, Ade gripped his sword tightly and raised it, getting ready to stab Sayyida directly on the head, but even before the tip of his blade reach half of the space between it and Sayyida, a spadroon hindered his attempt to kill the lady.
Annoyed by the sudden interruption, Ade raised his head to see who interfered with his business, and there he saw the familiar mask of the man whom he snatched the stallion from earlier.
He was about to confront the man but the corner of his eyes spotted two pirate captains from behind of Horatius some meters away from the man, so, he pulled back his sword and was about to twist his body to the right to get behind Horatius and struck the men who was attempting to kill the defenseless captain behind him but Horatius was quick enough- quicker than him, the man bends his knee before twisting his body and arm striking the two captains.
He scoffed as he stared at the man's bloody stomach whom Horatius slit. Ade froze in his place, he was amazed and baffled at the same time. Horatius' move was familiar to him, like, he saw it many times already.
His eyebrows met, "You... who the heck are you?" he strictly whispered. Badly wants to confront the man.
"There's no time for a talk right now, Ade. The other pirates found out about your identity, they're making their move now, in fact they're fighting with my first mates, near the pier."
"Did you even hear me?" he asked while staring at the man using his bloodshot eyes.
Horatius sighed before looking away, diverting his attention to the people whose crawling onto the ship's deck, "Come, we'll talk but not now." Horace stated before drawing his sword for another fight.
But Ade didn't move, he left the fight for Horatius alone, he just stood there and observed the man to confirm his conclusion. The number of enemies in the ship is increasing as time passes by but still Adeodatus didn't make any move, no one can reach his place either, all of them are being killed by Horatius even before they can step on the two-meter space from Adeodatus.
But some minutes after he nearly fell out of balance when the ship moved violently, some cannons struck the ship.
"Shit!" he cursed and straightened his stance before looking at the sea, there he saw two unfamiliar brigantines heading their way. Pirates.
But what really caught his attention was the ship beside the brigantine, the flag of his empire was being swayed by the air. He smiled a little before moving, defending Horatius from some enemies.
The number of enemies on board doubled so they had a hard time fighting everyone especially now that Horatius' people are limited since most are fighting at the pier, a guy holding a dagger ran towards Horatius to stab him, but the bigger man reflexes are on another level, so the enemy missed his head but quick enough to reach the corner of the mask.
Ade and Horace stop on their tracks when the mask fell on the wooden floor of the ship.
Adeodatus gasped, "Thelonius..." he said in surprise while staring at Horatius' face.
Horace clenched his jaw before looking away, facing his back on the man.
Ade grabbed the man's shoulder and forced the man to face him, "Ha! What the fuck is this-" he stops from speaking when he notices the shade of the man's eyes. It's not Thelonius, this man has a darker shade of gray eyes than Thelonius. And the scar on the man's upper eyebrow down to the eyes confirmed that, then... this is not Thelonius, he isn't betraying me.
But they really looked alike, from the face, build and height, "Who are you really?"
"Horatius... I told you before already."
"That's my knight's face... my Thelonius."
Horace stared at him before shaking his head, the man looked away once again and went to the heading enemies in front of them. Ade rushed behind Horatius when he saw a middle-aged pirate captain together with a quarter master beside him half running towards the busy Horatius.
He fought the two while Horace fought the other four, supporting each other's back.
"Shit!" Adeodatus hissed when a dagger hit his skin deeply. He dropped his sword on the wooden floor to hold his bleeding flesh that has a big cut and closed his eyes, ready to be struck by the man's sword, but after a couple of second he just blood dripping on the floor, he looked up and saw that the captain and its quarter master were struck by some blades directly on their chest.
"Thelonius..." he whispered when he looked up.
"Your imperial majesty." Tarian greeted before holding his arm, helping him to stand.
Ade felt the excruciating pain on his feet when he tried to take a stop but before he could even stumble another hand, held on his wrist. He looked up and saw the two and there, despite the danger they're in, he still managed to compare the two.
Both have dark aura surrounding them, Horatius has a scar on the face. But I bet if not for the scar, I wouldn't know who's who.
Tarian's brows met, "Horatius." he said, breaking the silence.
"Thelonius." the man greeted back in a plain tone.
And now it is Adeodatus' turn to curl his brows, like what I've thought, they've known each other...
