Adeodatus strung the rope to fasten the speed of the horse when he saw the familiar view of the pier but as soon as he past the dead trees he heard numerous horses galloping from his behind, he cursed when the stallion became unstable causing his hood to be removed, he looked down he saw an arrow on the horse's feet, he squinted his eyes to observe and glared when he realized that it is from a crossbow.

"Fuck."

He pulled the horse rope to stop it when he saw four pirates approaching his way, his eyelids moved, they didn't look familiar to him, meaning, they were not Horatius' men.

The three hopped down from their horses except for the man who's holding a crossbow, he held the dagger inside his coat tightly, "My, my, our captain was wondering since earlier, who was the person on Horace's horse, since it's the first time we saw someone unfamiliar other than the fat kid who's always with that bastard. Our luck is siding us now, the person happened to be the most valuable person in a pirate's eyes." a man said with a smirk.

His eyelids thinned, "What do you mean?"

"Your value, your imperial majesty. The bounty on your head is quite big, but I guess it will become even bigger if we capture you alive."

The man ran towards him while painting the sword in his direction, Ade pulled out the dagger in his coat and lowered his head when the man swayed his sword, he put the strength in his hand and stab the man's thigh using the dagger before pulling it out, a big amount of blood came like faucet from the man's wounded thigh.

The guy shouted in pain and knelt on the floor, another one came running towards Ade's, so he lifted himself and stepped on the guy's back who he just stabbed, jumped, and twisted his body as he fully kicked the other guy's face. He landed on his feet the heard the crossbow man making some sounds, using his peripheral vision he saw the last guy holding a sabre pointing at him, so he runs towards the man and pulled him on the nape, the guy holding a crossbow aimed it to Ade and shot him, but Adeodatus used the last guy's body as a shield before snatching the sabre away from the man.

When the bandit maneuvered his horse to aim at Ade again, Ade aimed his dagger and threw it forcefully, it landed on the guy's body, a direct hit on the heart, the man fell from the horse together with his crossbow. Adeodatus pulled out a handgun from the man who was shot by the crossbow then rode a new horse whom he snatched from the bandits he just defeated and began to ride again to the pier.

He jumped from the horse immediately as he saw the wooden bridge of the pier and ran. He needs to do things faster, because he found that the place would be full of pirates and bandits any minute now.

He gripped the handgun and hit the guy's nape who happened to be one of Horatius men, he walks past the man after stealing a cutlass, he entered a deck and pointed the blade to one of Horatius' man as soon as he was spotted, "Lead the way to my men and I'll spare you." he commanded, the nervous man nodded and obliged.

"Open the cages," he said.

"Your imperial majesty!" the knight captain shouted after seeing his emperor alive and well.

"Silence." he warned.

His other men helped open the other cages and when he noticed that most of his men were freed, he turned his back and started to walk towards the exit, leaving the pirate in his men's hands.

"Where are the others?" he asked after getting a full sight of his men. The knight captain roamed his eyes and answered, "...They were killed on the ship when they fought back the pirates, all of us here are the ones who were captured successfully."

Ade nodded, no time to mourn for his dead comrades, he needed to let the others escape first, "I see, let's head out now. There's no time left."

All of them ran went down the ship of the line and as soon as he spotted a galleon, he pointed it and his men went running towards the ship, he held his cutlass when a pirate pulled out a sword, Ade run and docked before slicing the man's stomach, "Throw that body out of my ship and pull the anchor."

As soon as everyone stepped on the galleon, his men went on their way to do their ship duties, the ship moved while the anchor was being pulled up, he looked down on the sword he's holding, my sword.

His forehead knotted, bothered by his dear sword, so he ran and jumped off of the ship, but even before he can run two of the captains also jumped from the ship, "What the hell are you doin- you guys, get out of here now!" he shouted in annoyance, he glared at the other soldiers who were also planning to jump from the moving ship, "Get out and go back to the empire!"

"Where not leaving you alone here, your imperial majesty." the knight captain butted in.

He shook his head and ignored his men before running towards the amity, he had zero where did the damn masked man hide his sword, but he needs to try his best to find it, he's not leaving without his valuable sword.

"Tell me, where did your captain hide my sword?" he eyes squinted as he moved his sword near the man's neck.

"S-spare me, please."

"I will, that is, if you tell me where..."

The guy nodded repeatedly before walking down towards the amity's berth deck, Ade's following him from behind, the guy went to the officer's quarter before lifting the sailcloth covering his sword, his eyes glinted and snatched his sword away from the man's hand, he ran towards the main deck and commanded the two to start pulling the anchor.

Halfway pulling the anchor and maneuvering the ship's wheel, he heard the horses approaching so he went down from the quarter deck when he saw some pirates jumping on the ship, "Focus on your work, captains. I'll handle them." he stated and ran towards the ship's forecastle, leaving the worried captains on their duty.
