PAW Patrol: The Xonia's Adventures

Chapter 28

Tracker and Sweetie positioned themselves on a hill and waited for the order to start shooting. Skye took off with the Eagle and began shooting down the enemy planes, the two ground crews moved towards the entrance of the building.

The structure has white walls, has few windows and only two floors. It was surrounded by walls and an electrified fence. Within the walls there were gardens, fountains, small buildings such as cafes, a recreation area and other areas for personnel and the military.

"Jarvis told me that most of the soldiers are inside the facility but there are some divisions outside." Arzio said via the radio.

"Let's destroy them and enter the structure." Fiez replied at Arzio via the radio.

The two teams moved quickly but within a kilometer of the fence they were stopped by two heavily armed divisions. They reunited and hid behind brush to work out a plan.

"Guys this is a big problem, how do we destroy it?" Iris asked.

"They are two small divisions, about 50 men each plus a tank and an armored jeep.
Chase's team and I will hit the enemy from the front, while Arzio's team will bypass the enemy and hit him from behind using the element of surprise.

Sweetie and Tracker will hit from a distance with snipers and Skye will give us a hand from above." Fiez explained at the PAW Patrol.

"Okay team let's go."

Tracker and Sweetie were ordered to shoot and began sniping from a distance killing about ten men. Chase's team begins a fierce fight against over 90 men. Skye struck and destroyed the tank and provided air cover to his friends. Arzio's team struck the enemy from behind, putting him in difficulty.

Ryder P.O.V.

Arzio gave the order to advance. We got out of the bushes and started hitting the enemy soldiers from behind. I never expected to have to shoot and kill people.
Before shooting I looked at the eyes of the enemy soldiers and I saw the same emotions that I had, Fear and Sadness.

I fired my rifle, shot about 5 or 10 men, and every soldier I shot felt their fear and pain.
I passed a soldier lying on the ground. The soldier grabbed my leg, at first I thought he wanted to kill me and I aimed my rifle at them but I observed that he had no weapons.

The soldier motioned me to approach him, i trusted the soldier and sat next to him making sure I couldn't get hit. With his hand he squeezed my uniform and said to me in a weak but sure voice:
"Take this wallet to my daughter and the only thing I have, also tell her that her father died to protect her." 

The soldier gave me his wallet and slumped to the ground and waited for death to loom over him. I got up and went back to the others, Fiez said that almost all of them were dead only a few had escaped and that they could get away.

Narrator P.O.V.

The two teams approached the fence, Fiez asked Jarvis to disconnect the electricity supplying the fences. After a while the energy was removed and Arzio cut the fence creating a hole that allowed us to pass.

"We go quickly to the gate of the walls, enter and go to the building. They will have alerted the troops and the scientists are all inside so as not to be killed or injured." Arzio suggested.

"Good plan, move squad!" Fiez said.

The two teams moved quickly towards the doors. When they arrived, Fiez received an urgent communication from Skye.

"Fiez, there are so-" A shot from a tank hit a wall opening a gap, the team realized that the shot was for them. They took refuge behind the trees nearby, but it didn't take them too long to notice that at least 300 men, many dogs and many tanks were making their way towards them.

"This is the end for us?" Zuma asked.

"Shoot, shoot for survive." Jake said in a desperate voice.

Everyone started shooting at the soldiers, but a small squad of dogs engaged Chase's squad which was more distant.
A Labrador walked up to Chase and jumped on them, then slammed him to the ground and started talking.

"You are Chase, right?" He said angrily in his voice.

"Why you asked this?" Chase replied.

"Because Skye is only mine. She is my girl not your girl Chase."

"How do you know my name?"

"I'm she's ex boyfriend, Roy. When we were together he always talked about you, then one day he left me but we remained 'friends'."

"Are you Skye's ex boyfriend? What did you do to her!?"

"Skye had-" A noise from a kind of trumpet sounded throughout the valley and put an end to the fighting. Many soldiers began to appear, more than Fiez needed.

"My name is Shirley, i'm a member of the Xonia Resistance. From now on, your era of dominance on this planet is over. Charging soldiers!"

A large number of soldiers and combat vehicles charged Humdinger's army which was frightened, Fiez took advantage of this to help Chase's team.

Chase began to fight Roy. Roy was stronger but also slower than Chase. Chase bit Roy's neck, Roy bit his paws and put him on the defensive Chase.
Then he pulled a gun out of his backpack and pointed it at Chase's head.

The German Shepherd closed his eyes and heard the blow but he was still alive. When he opened his eyes he saw Roy beside him, dead, all members of his team fled.
Ryder helped Chase up and made sure he was okay.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, thanks Ryder."

"Ok follow me."

The two teams gathered and entered through the hole in the wall. As they walked, Tracker got in touch with Shirley, whom he hadn't heard of for over a week.

"Hi Shirley."

"Tracker! Im glad to hear you. Are you fine? Where are you?"

"I'm on a hill with my friend Sweetie, we're shooting. Inside the facility are my friends who need machinery and they need time, so keep them entertained as much as possible."

"Alright Tracker, see you when the battle is over."

"Be careful out there." 

Meanwhile Sweetie witnesses the scene, when Tracker turned to her he noticed that she had a smile on her face.

"Why that smile?" Tracker asked.

"Do you think i hasn't noticed? You like that dog."

"Rocky already told me this."

"Don't be afraid, I don't know Shirley but I think she is a good dog and a great companion for you."

"Thanks Sweetie."

The two ground crews entered the building and began to search, after 20 minutes they found nothing and decided to go in the underground floors

"There isn't nothing here." Everest report at Fiez.

"Okay we have to go underground. Be prepared as there may be a lot of resistance." Fiez said.
