Michael was furious as he watched the evil, soulless, merciless obsidian knight stand over his teammates, his fellow vessels, his friends. He felt rage over come him, burn into every part of his body, and fill him with an insatiable hunger for destruction and chaos.
And, with his new found power, Michael launched himself from where he lay injured on the ground, and propelled himself forward and on to the back of the knight, who was unsteadied by the sudden disturbance. It wobbled uncertainly, unbalanced by the odd weight on its back, and tried desperately to free itself of the heaviness that had put itself there, leaving the other five draconians to themselves in its struggle.
The five reacted to the opportunity immediately, Jack and Geoff swiftly healing the group before they all scattered, preparing to try a different assault on the obsidian warrior. And, while they did that, Michael continued to grip the back of the living statue, rage still pounding through him, and attempted to topple it by quickly moving his weight. It was working, as the knight began to tip to one side and then the other, before one final strong push by the fire vessel completely unbalanced the warrior and sent it sprawling on its side.
Since the obsidian demon was finally weak, the draconians began an all-out attack, pelting the toppled statue with pistol bullets, skulls, hunks of earth, arrows, and extremely cold water balls, which were aimed perfectly to begin freezing the knight's magma blood. Michael had also finally recovered from unbalancing the warrior, as it falling had also knocked him to the ground, and was slashing at it ruthlessly with his powerful ancient sword.
Through all this the being stayed silent, taking the hits, though it continued to struggle, which was obviously in vain. The tough, thick rock that created its armor and body was being cracked and destroyed by the endless onslaught of projectiles being thrown at it, its blood was being frozen by balls of water that were nearly ice, and it was being absolutely decimated by Michael's sword, which left great dents and fissures in the statue that was the demon knight.
After a while of continually battering the knight with his weapon, Michael finally cracked the adversary's helmet in two, splitting it straight down the middle and revealing the warrior's obsidian face and glowing magma eyes. Signaling for the other five to stop assaulting the statue, which they did, Michael raised his sword over his head one last time with a fearsome battle cry and thrust it straight through the head of the knight, instantly killing it.
The glow of the lava blood in the knight quickly diminished and disappeared after it was murdered, and its eyes glowed no longer. The fire shield holding the draconians in place also shattered after the eyes of the knight stopped glowing, allowing the vessels to continue freely on their journey.
They did just that after collecting themselves and healing any injuries, as well as letting Michael's rage quell, since they didn't want to risk it being an issue in the remainder of a voyage they had ahead of them.
Said trek was quiet for a while, and there was a reason for it, all the vessels except Michael knowing said purpose.
It was that they didn't want to vocalize their gratitude towards Michael and his bravery and strength, since he had a big enough ego already. They saw no reason to add to it.
