Lola's POV-
Once Grayson and I got back to the car, I burst into tears. He wasn't saying a word, but his eyes were creased in anger and his knuckles were white from holding it in a fist for so long. Finally, he punched the steering wheel setting off the horn.
We were told little to nothing. All we knew was that Sarah had gone to the bathroom and hadn't come out. They found foam in her mouth and her face was blue. The only speculation was that she had somehow been poisoned. By who? They didn't know yet. All we knew was that she was gone, pronounced dead only minutes before everyone inside was escorted out by both the cops and team of forensics. No more details were given-none could be until after they did the autopsy.
"It's not fucking fair" Grayson grabbed his blonde locks in his fingers and pulled so hard on them that I thought they would rip right out.
"I'm so sorry" I pulled my feet into the seat with me, burying my face into my knees to hide it. "I'm so so sorry"
He didn't say anything for a second, then screamed and smacked the steering wheel repeatedly. "I should have kept an eye on her. I should have kept her with me. I should have-"
"It's not your fault" I wiped my eyes and turned to him.
He glanced at me, taking a deep breath. He looked terrible. His eyes were rimmed with red and super puffy. His hair was an absolute mess and his nose rubbed raw.
"Let's get home" I whispered.
He nodded, aggressively turning the key in the ignition and backing out like nobody's business. It scared me a little with how fast he was speeding down the road, but I didn't say anything because I knew trying to tell him to drive a little safer would only make him more upset.
When we got back to the apartment complex, I just followed him into his and Sarah's without invitation. He looked a little confused at first, although he didn't say anything.
"Go take a hot shower" I closed the door behind us. "It will make you feel better."
"I'm taking a beer with me" he mumbled, trudging to the fridge.
In my pocket, I felt my phone buzzing. I peeked at it and saw that it was Harry, but I figured that I could just call him right back once Grayson was in the bathroom.
He rummaged around the fridge for a few seconds before pulling a Bud Light from the back. He glanced at me quickly before disappearing down the hall into the bathroom.
When he had been in there for a few minutes and I heard the water run, I called Harry back.
"Lola!" he exclaimed.
"Hey, Babe" I tried to mask the utter devastation I was feeling. "Did you make it safely?"
"Uh huh!"
"Where are you?"
"Los Vegas"
Great. I was sure that meant that there would definitely be some mess going on around him, and stressing about that was the last thing I needed right now.
"Oh, nice" I forced excitement. "Don't gamble everything away"
"There's a hotel casino, so I'll probably just mess around in there after the show tonight"
"You're doing a show tonight?!"
"Yeah, we'll be here for two days, so I'll probably go again tomorrow"
"Do you have a show tomorrow, too?"
"No"
"That's good, at least. You'll have a little break"
