Lola's POV-
I spent the next week with absolute crippling anxiety over seeing Harry again. With each day that passed, I only questioned my decision more and more. And now it was the day before Thanksgiving and Grayson and I were tossing our suitcases into his car. I knew that Harry's flight from Fort Lauderdale had already landed, and that he was more than likely at the gate to go to Dallas already. The fact that I would be seeing him in less than an hour was causing my heart to race. And not in a good way.
Grayson could tell I was nervous, although he hadn't really mentioned Harry going with us. Undoubtedly, he knew why I was so uneased, though.
"Do we have everything?" he asked, resting his hand on the trunk door ready to close it.
"I don't think we're leaving anything"
"Did you feed the cat?"
I nodded.
"Are all the doors locked?"
"They are"
"And you have the plane tickets?"
"Yes"
"Awesome" he shut the trunk. "Then let's hit the road"
I walked around to the passenger side and climbed in, slamming the door behind me.
"Are you okay?" he asked, starting up the car.
"I'm not really looking forward to seeing Harry again"
"Maybe it'll be good for you. You can have the closure"
"I don't want closure. It's not like I'm going to see him again once I move out"
"Except you'll see him everywhere"
"True" I let out a sigh.
"But you also don't want to have a bad rep from his fanbase."
"I don't really care about that"
"You should. Because everyone is going to think you cheated, or something, since we started dating right after you broke up with him"
"Well, I didn't, which is all that matters. Plus, eventually everyone will forget about me. Evangeline will be the next big thing. And once their relationship comes out, I will probably be instantly forgotten"
"Are they official?"
"I would assume so" I slouched back into my seat, watching the world zoom by out the window.
"Well, are you happier now?"
"Yes, I can't be with someone knowing that they cheated on me...more than once"
"Yeah, I get that" he agreed, turning onto another road.
"I don't even know how to act around him"
"Just be yourself. Act normal. And you'll have me there, I'll step in if I need to"
"Yeah, but you shouldn't have to do that"
"I don't care" he flashed me a smile. "It's my job now"
"What if he acts really weird?"
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know, like it's going to be weird if we don't talk at all, but it's also going to be weird if he's talking to my dad a lot"
"Just let him do what he wants. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it" he paused. "Besides, it's not like you did anything. There's nothing for you to feel awkward about. It's all on him, so if anybody should feel weird, it's him"
