Lola's POV-

The next morning, I woke up to the smell of coffee. I swear no smell is better than freshly brewed coffee when you first wake up. There's just something so calming about it that also tends to wake you up. Maybe the caffeine infiltrates the air. Either way, before my eyes were even open, there was a smile on my face.

"Good morning, sleepyhead"

I sat up on the couch and twisted around to face the kitchen, where Harry was somehow managing to look at me while pouring coffee. There was this stupid grin on his face that I hadn't seen in way too long. I couldn't help, but smile back.

"Good morning"

"Merry Christmas"

"Merry Christmas" I wiped my eyes grabbed the back of the couch, hoisting myself up into a sitting position.

"How was your sleep?" he asked.

"It was pretty good" I yawned. "I stayed up pretty late, so I'm a little tired"

"How late were you up?" he tiled his head.

"Until about four in the morning" I admitted.

His face fell. "Couldn't sleep?"

"No, I was just working" I replied, finally standing up.

I trudged over to him and he handed me the cup of coffee. I took a cautious sip.

"How did you sleep?"

"I slept fine" he answered. "I got up early"

"What time did you get up?"

"Around five" he waved off. "Which is pretty normal for me on most days"

"Five?" my eyebrows shot up. "Why on earth would you get up at five on Christmas?"

"I had to finish up your present" he ran his hands through his curls.

"Finish it up?" I repeated skeptically. "What kind of present do you have to set up?"

"I guess you'll have to wait and find out"

"I have to admit, I'm a little curious about it"

"I would be to"

"I have something for you, too" I looked down.

"I thought you didn't?"

"Well, that's kind of why I was up late"

"I hope you didn't go out last night" he frowned. "The only people out are probably all drunk drivers"

"I didn't go out" I paused. "Was that concern?"

"I wasn't concerned, I was just saying it's not the safest option" he shrugged off.

"Mmhmm" I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Hey, I think you would be concerned if the roles were switched"

"Are you kidding me? You were drunk and high like nonstop over the past few months. I could care less"

"Sure" he rolled his eyes sarcastically. "I think deep down you still cared"

"It was more so just annoying"

"Yeah, it probably was" he grimaced.

"Anyways, do you want your present?" I asked sheepishly.

"I don't know, I kind of wanted to give you yours first"

"No, mine is really small, I think you should have it first so you're not disappointed"

"Why would I be disappointed?"
