Chapter 14- Attacked.

I followed the police cars, watching their chase, they were after a speeding car that was right on their tail. My mask covered up my identity, along with the suit that I had put on in under a few seconds that to my super speed. I swung from the buildings catching up with the chase, the car in front was heading towards the city.

Yet, it was a danger to everybody.

And it was my time to shine.

I jumped off the roof, then with both my hands shot webs out. Both of them taking each side of the car, the weight was barely nothing I pulled extra hard and shot an extra webs on to the side of the buildings. The car slowed down, I smiled and waved to the citizens of New York. "Thank you so much!" Somebody shouted.

"My pleasure" I shouted back.

The cops looked up to me, my cue to leave, "You, White Widow!" One of the cops shouted.

Oh,no.

I ran for it, jumping back and running on top of the buildings and also swinging from side to side. It didn't take me long before finding my way back home, until I heard it.

A scream.

I turned back round to the noise and listened closely, I closed my eyes and followed it. Going back towards the city, I wandered on the roof until I found it. The voice sounded like a males voice. Then I thought about it.

Peter.

It was him, I knew it was. I leaped off the buildings and followed the voices, they became so clear as I travelled towards the deeper sides of Manhattan. The voices got so loud even the people heard them, turning their heads towards a long dark alley. I jumped on to a building that was directly below it, then I saw the voices.

Two older men were beating a guy, worried it was Peter and jumped in and attacked. I swung my arms towards the guys and jumped below them, taking out their legs hoping that they would fall to the floor.

"Pick on other people your size" I snarled.

"Freak!" They shouted, then they ran off.

I laughed and looked back to the guy. It was not Peter as I had anticipated, it was James.

"Jame-" I started "I mean, are you okay?"

He nodded, picking up his backpack. I touched his arm and helped him up, "Don't touch me" He snapped.

"Woah, I'm sorry. Just saving your life from a mugging and that's how you repay me?" I say.

"A city like this doesn't need a hero. So get out of my way now before I call the cops, then you will be sorry"

I took a few steps back "Is that how you treat everybody? What about your father or your best friend!"

The words slipped out of my mouth, crap. I took another steps back and quickly dashed off, I shot a web out to a taller buildings and swung from it. James ran after me, as I got further away I could no longer hear his loud footsteps. My heart rate had picked up quickly, I began to fret thinking of what I had said.

If James ever knew who I was he would tell the press, he would tell Peter and my parents. I looked at him, James was just an ant but he was waking in my direction, looking up to me yet not running.

Never running.

By Friday I had made several appearances, around Times Square and New York every day. There was no specific time as to when I appeared, sometimes early in the morning or late at night. During Lunch I tended to slip away from school and became White Widow, Lennie covered for me saying I had basketball practise or was at the Library studying.

James had become suspicious of me, keeping his distance yet asking questions every opportunity he could get. "Where did you get that cut?" James asked me after lunch.

Easy, I swinging from a building and went to sweep up a pedestrian that fell over. A speeding car was coming towards him, I fell after that but saved his life no need to thank me.

"I tripped" I said.

He didn't believe me, I knew this every time.

When it came Friday night I was anxious, our butler Bernie was to arrive in the early evening. The same time I would need to leave, it didn't bother me as he knew what I could yet didn't know who I really was.

I had dressed myself in a formal dress, a crimson red strapless dress that had a small bow at the side that was a few inches off knee length. My shoes were black flats, I had temped myself to wear black converse as my feet ached from the previous day. I was also tempted to get a small bag that could hold my White Widow outfit.

But I thought otherwise, it was my first date.

I dashed out of the house, the sunset was slowly fading behind Liberty. It was merely cold, I picked up my pace and made my way quickly downtown to the restaurant. It was in my view.

Until it all went wrong.

A black shadow swept me off my feet, and not in a good way, the world suddenly came quieter. As I was pulled by the black shadow it dropped me off o top of a building.

I stumbled back a few steps, seeing the shadow. But it wasn't a shadow, it was a person in a jet black outfit. Much like mine, but he had the logo of a spider in blood red, his webbing also in red.

His mask was much like mine, in the webbing design and but the eyes were catlike unlike mine.

He pulled his mask off, it was Tyler.

"Surprised Sierra? Or should I say White Widow?" He says, I stumbled backwards and think as to how he knew "I bet you didn't expect that now did you? Well neither did I, you made me like this. I would like to thank you for such an incredible power, I think you do too-"

"What? How are? You-"

"I know, how did I become this? That is a very good question. Easy, when I was bitten by Aranea I knew something was not right. I became very ill, so I gave myself a blood test. And do you know what I found in my blood Sierra? Yours, your DNA was mixed with mine. That means Aranea is quite frankly you, by DNA"

"Tyler, you are not thinking straight. Please go home and rest" I plead.

Tyler laughs evilly and grins. He then comes hurdling towards me, with all of his force he goes my legs. My signature trick, I jump and kick at his chest. He stumbles backwards.

"You want a fight? Bring it on Widow"
