Chapter 23- A grand entrance is never hard to find.

As I waited patiently on the steps that led up to my townhouse I saw him coming.

Riding to my house in his own chauffeurs car of a Rolls Royce that stood out like a sore thumb with his window rolled down and his face sticking out with a particularly large grin across his face. In a night the guy had changed, his hair was the same as last night, combed back and still cut short. But his appearance had differed, from what I noticed when I sat on the steps was he was wearing a button down shirt with his last two buttons not fastened and what looked like a loosened tie around his neck.

This was not the same James I had only saw 24 hours ago before the blackmailer came, no hoodie or a t-shirt that usually said some comical remark.

"Hey beautiful" He says.

I put on the best fake smile I can, "This is how you want to show up as a couple?" I ask.

He nods "Make as well have an entrance"

He opens the door and ushers me inside, I slide on to the seat while James closes the door and sits close to me on the middle seat. "Can I help you?" I ask as he nudges closer towards me.

"Sierra, we have to act like we are into each other in other places, and at least like each other in a friendly way" He says.

I rip away from him and hide up against the door holding on to the handle "I can never like you, not as a friend or as a lover. What you did ripped me apart inside, choosing between myself and White Widow" I snap.

"Fine!" He huffs.

"I'll put on a smile and act like I'm in love with you the minute we step out of this door and every other public place but that's it!"

He smiles and reaches for my hand, but I pull away. As we pass through the city it's not even the tiniest bit quiet like it's half seven am in the morning. We live in a city that never sleeps and never stops partying.

As we approach the school James's chauffeur drives straight up to the school and parks directly outside the gates, in full view of the public eye. The students all turn to our direction, smiling and getting ready to take pictures of the Rolls Royce. I mean, it wasn't normal to show up in a rolls but other kids showed up in their fancy land rovers who were sons and daughters of bankers and business men.

"You ready?" James asks.

"Don't I have to be?" I question.

He smiles and takes my hand, with that he opens the door with a small amount of force. He steps out and holds his hand out to mine, I slide over my seat and take his hand. Stepping into the full view of our fellow peers that have finally let their mouths drop.

We are now acting, acting like we are in love. It's like a movie or in a theatre where you act on the stage but behind the curtains it can be full of misery and despair.

Smile and wave! I thought.

I smile like I'm a soppy girl in love, gripping hold of James's hand with our steps synchronised into a perfect form. We wave at the students from our classes, I wave to my teammates and they all give wolf whistles. The cheerleaders all stare with their perfect heart shaped faces and their mouths sliding open, but except for Shannon who waves vigorously.

We are happy and in love.

That is until we see Lennie and Peter.

"Oh no" I mumble. "You forgot about how we are going to explain this to our best friends, yet have you forgotten Peter actually likes me"

James smiles and squeezes my hand "How about I take this one?"

"You have taken every story of how we met!" I tell him.

"Well what's your story for these two?" He asks.

I think "To be subtle, we got together a few weeks ago and something blossomed when I was going out with Peter. That's the end of it"

"Let's actually quite good, as they don't need every single detail. They just want to know what happened but I don't think Lennie will be rooting me"

I smile, "I'm not rooting for you either"

"Now now Sierra we're in public"

I nod and slowly we defend towards our best friends, their expressions say it all. Angry, scared, confused and I bet they were thinking, what the hell?

We face our best friends, trying to miss eye contact and looking either at each other or the floor. "We can explain" I begin "A few weeks ago, something just came for both of us. We didn't know what was happening either, Peter that was why I was trying to protect you-"

"Save it" Peter snaps, he then walks off angrily into the building.

"Lennie" I begin "Please don't be mad at us"

"Well, I hope you two are happy" She says, straightening her blue beret and following after Peter.

I break away from James, "I have to sort this out otherwise they will be gone"

"Hey Sierra, don't worry about it Lennie and Peter will come crawling back to us by lunch" He adds.

I shake my head "James! Peter has been your best friend for how many years? Both of them have been my best friends for a few weeks, but I feel like I have known them forever. I am not going to leave them just for our romance" I say it like it's a dirty word, because to me now it is. I look to my watch and notice we have half an hour before classes start, "I'm going into the city, I have to clear my head"

"But you won't make it back in time" He says.

"I'm going as White Widow, and don't stop me"
