Chapter 22- A dinner with the parents
He disgusted me, James disgusted every inch of my body. Of how he was to use me for his and his Dads own personal use. He was abusing his knowledge of my secret by turning me into his 'girlfriend'. Even the thought of it made me shiver, as James and I stood on the patio he smiled rubbing my hand acting like a real gentleman.
But inside he was cruel wicked beast.
"I will stay for dinner, you will introduce me to your parents as somebody you are now dating. Tomorrow you will meet up with me at school and we will walk with our hands hold so the people can know" He orders.
"How dare you! How are you come into my home and boss me around like I'm your dog! You have no power over me! I'm much more stronger than you think, I'm more powerful and I'm sure you can't do this" I say positioning my hands and making a web shoot out and land directly on to his shirt sending him stumbling backwards.
"Don't test me Sierra Rose, remember I'm doing this for our parents and our safety" He explains.
I laugh "Our safety? When did you become the boss of who tells me what to do? Unless you have forgotten I'm the White Widow!"
James laughs and takes out his phone, he holds it up high in the sky and presses play. "Unless you have forgotten I'm the White Widow!" My voice screams from the phone.
"I'm on to you" He smiles and kisses my cheek, "I will be back in an hour. You might want to put on a nice dress"
With that he makes his own exit, his hands hanging on to his back pockets, he swaggered as he walked making every step look like he was some kind of king that was the ruler of a very large country.

James did as he said, arriving back in an hour. His hair was freshly cut, instead of it falling into his face with his messy curls it was all cut back and full of hairspray that held it down to his head. James had cleaned up nicely, he arrived in a limo in a punch of red roses clasped into his right hand. He wore a both black slacks and a black shirt with a dark red tie.
My parents stood in the hallway smiling at my accomplishment of finally becoming what was known of a normal teenager:requiring a boyfriend.
James smiled like he knew nothing was going on, I stood in the porch dressed nicely in a navy dress with a white bow in the middle and white ballet pumps. My parents had insisted on dressing in full formal wear but I resisted, instead they showed up exactly as I told them not to. My Dad in a suit and my Mom in a formal camel coloured dress with a white cardigan draped over her shoulders.
As James made his entrance he introduced himself formally, stretching out a hand first to my Dad "I'm James Dey, son of Cornelius Dey who is the founder of DeyInc" He says.
"Oh there's no need for the formal introduction James, Sierra Rose has been non stop talking about you since we got home today. We were guessing she kept you a secret from us" Dad inquired.
"Oh it was all my idea. We thought it might startle you, as the new company and all. Plus the public was going to be very attracted if we announced earlier" He says.
"Well your Father raised you well" Mom says.
My Mom looks towards my Dad smiling "How about you and Cornelius come to our dinner party Saturday? It will be a lovely occasion for everybody and you know what they say, the more the merrier!" Dad says.
Inside I'm groaning, dreading Saturday now. But on the outside I'm smiling with pure delight gripping tightly to James hand as we slowly make our way to the dining table.
As we sit the table is laid out especially with candles and a full table cloth. As we sit and Bernie brings out our starters, tomato soup. I try to take big gulps to avoid the talking of the questions of what my parents were going to ask.
"So, are we allowed to ask when this started?" My mom asks.
James and I exchange glances, I make eye contact to say not it.
He gets the memo, then he makes up a story of how we met on the first day of school but didn't really start going out till a few weeks later. He then made up about why we waited so late, saying of his dad and the press.
"Don't worry, we didn't want Sierra attending the grand opening of SLA. That was only for her own protection against the press, it was too early" Dad tells James.
"They will find out eventually, and by eventually we mean Saturday. As we have a few journalists coming from the Times and the Daily Lennon" Mom inquires.
I drop my spoon "You can't!" I shout.
"Yes we can, and don't worry about the certain inequities. It will be taken care of" Dad says.
I know what he is talking about, my suit, myself and the drawings that are now plastered all over my wall of White Widow in all of her poses.
"Why don't we talk about this later?" Mom says picking up my spoon and handing it back to me.
I smile and nod.
Just like a good little girl.

The evening goes as planned, just as James had hoped. He left promptly at 8pm and was then whisked away by his own chauffeur. Once the door closed when he left my parents had their own questions for me, was that the guy you went on a date with?, does he know about White Widow? How do your friends feel about this?
And so on.
As I settled into my room for the night, my room was now fully plastered with every inch of identity that was White Widow. Lennie had taken pictures with my outfit on without my mask, selfies of me and her on top of SLA watching over the beautiful city of New York.
The drawing also were plastered by my wardrobe, my own symbols that were once part of an idea for my costume. The letting of WW was done in all different fonts and little notes added all around in the sticky tape.
I smiled at the pictures as I climbed into bed and drifted off into a heavenly sleep.
*****
I don't know why but I really enjoyed writing this chapter, I think it was just cuz of the ending and how Sierra talks about how her world is now full of the White Widow.
And surprisingly I had the idea of having James blackmailing Sierra in my head for ages, it was a twist on to your average where the superhero either gets the boy or girl at the end.
My own little intake?
So guys you know what to do, vote and comment!
I really would enjoy to interact with you guys and have your own feedback.
