****Picture above is Sierras dinner party dress.****Chapter 24- What's a party without the odd gate crashers?
I had arrived back late, the half hour I had spent by myself consisted of going around as White Widow and stopping whatever kind if crime was. This morning I had stopped overall a total of 10 criminals, mostly all of them were shoplifters or people trying to rob elder women and men.
Of course, it didn't last long. One swoop for their guns and the bags was all it took, but there was hardly any crime upstate compared to downtown, where the crime flew in the area, a perfect time for a hero like me or heroine.
The days I spent away from Lennie and Peter meant more time for James, for our fake relationship. But for also more time to be the White Widow, in the days that past Lennie didn't breathe a single word to me nor did Peter. Instead they sat at their table eating in the pair that they had now become, eating in silence without me to rattle them up and have a argument that would only last a few minutes.
My life felt empty without them, without my best friends. As they say our best friends our the people god forgot to give us as our brothers or sisters.
He certainly got that right.
By the weekend it was time for my parents dinner party, now here I was lying on my satin sheets that had matched my dinner party dress. My dress was a chapman be coloured dress that stopped a few inches from my knees, the skirt was of a tulle making me look like a ballerina with the dress then fastened with a bow at the front.
I had added a white headband in my hair that also had a bow, making me look like he perfect scientists daughter who wouldn't show up in a mini skirt and a crop top that she bought from brandy Melville.
I heard the party going on downstairs, the guests laughing and pictures being taken. I heard a few guests mutter my name several times, as they and yet to know I was even here and still alive. Feet travelled up the stairs to my level, I looked around my room and quickly ran towards the door. Only to find my Mother standing there arms folded "Sierra. You need to come downstairs, my staff and the press are getting agitated" She says.
"Fine" I huff closing the door behind me, Mom then hands me a key and I stick it through the door.
She smiles "Let me go first"
I nod and walking behind her down the stairs, she keep her back straight and her shoulders back, I try to copy her movements making me look more positioned. She turns back to me as we reach the end "Wait here" She orders. I watch my mothers movement as she appears back with the guests once again, I hear her talking to them about me and then it comes; "Ladies and gentleman, I would like to announce my darling daughter Sierra Rose Lawson" She announces.
As if on cue, I strut down the stairs with my shoulders back and head held high. The guests clap and the press flash their cameras, I give a polite smile and place a hand on my hip. As you never know, I could be on the face of the items instead of my parents.
"Sierra can you turn to the side with your head over your shoulder?" One of the cameramen shouts.
I do as they tell me so, turning to the side and putting my head over my shoulder. They were making me feel like some kind of model, I smiled as they told the instructions as did some twirls in my dress.
"Thank you, but I must socialise" I say.
The press still take pictures, the bright lights finally start to hurt my vision and making me feel slightly dizzy. Then on cue an am is placed around my waist, I close my eyes and smile regaining my vision.
"Hey" James says.
"Hey you" I say with a smile, finally it was time to act.
"I cant believe it, the DeyInc founders son and the SLA daughter together!" A journalist shouts. "When did you guys start dating?" The journalist asks.
"A few weeks ago, we wanted to make sure it was special before we came out to the public" James says.
They awe, snapping more shots of us together. "I have to socialise" I tell James.
"Let me come with you"
I smile and we walk through the guests together, my parents find us and start introducing us to a bunch of other board members. Mostly all of them comment on my dress, how grown up look and my new relationship. My parents then thrust us towards us an elderly man in his 50s who is dressed very stylish in a suit with a scarf around his neck.
"Juliano do you remember my daughter Sierra Rose?" My mother asks.
"Who doesn't!" He laughs "You are so grown up Sierra, now you probably won't remember me as the last I saw you was in diapers for your baby shots!"
"She's very photogenic, did you see her with the cameras? A true model in the making" James adds "I'm her boyfriend James Dey, son of Archibald Dey who is found of DeyInc"
Juliana stretches out a hand to James and he shakes it, "Lovely to meet you Mr Dey. But Sierra, have you seen Gabriel lately?"
I shake my head "We haven't seen each other since we were 10, I mean I see him everywhere now if you get what I mean" I laugh.
"Who's Gabriel?" James asks.
"My son is Gabriel Lancaster, ultimate pop sensation, Grammy award winner and stealer of girls hearts everywhere"
James's mouth drops open I smile "We used to be really close, until he was discovered by a scout and we lost contact" I explain "Where is he touring now?"
"Here, he's here today. You might want to check your bedroom" He laughs.
My eyes widen, my bedroom, every detail of me being White Widow was full in that room. "I will go check" I say.
I run up the stairs, dodging past all the guests and giving polite smiles. That is until a see him.
Tyler.
He stands up against the banister in a suit with a glass of champagne in his hand, "Well Sierra, you can't hide anymore. And don't forget our deal" He says.
"Tyler this isn't the time" I whine.
"Better hurry up, I thought I saw somebody go into your room" He smiles. "And Sierra, it's been a little over two weeks. Maybe we can reschedule, or you can give me some information on your DNA that I can collect"
"I don't have enough yet" I whispered.
"Tsk tsk. Never meeting up with me and now no information, let me say this clearly. You have an extra week and if you don't give me anything say goodbye to your parents and your boyfriend. The one you actually like" He laughs.
I sprint up the final set of stairs, the key is still in the door. I turn it vigorously and find that it's open, and I enter.
To see Gabriel Lancaster, pop star sensation, my crush when I was in middle school, my only friend that stuck by me all them years when I was a loner, a nobody, was standing in the middle of my room looking at all my drawings, pictures and clutching my suit.
"Sierra Rose. It's been a long time" He says. He turns around, not much has changed, he has that pop star look, high cheekbones, perfectly tanned skin, blue eyes and let's not forget the hair.
I drop to the floor "How many more people have to know?"
"Hey that's no way to greet your childhood best friend" He laughed.
