Lily
Sammy had an eyes wide and open mouth expression. Emma was gushing.
It was Saturday evening, we got back home, had dinner after which we cleared up the kitchen and were sitting in the living room when I dropped the bomb.
I had the same reaction when Jeremy asked me to be his plus one. When Jayden asked me the same thing I wasn't sure enough to go with someone I barely knew but when the question came from Jeremy my mind immediately asked me to give it a second thought when in first place I was going to refuse the offer.
There was a time when Jeremy wanted to go prom with me but I didn't want to. I owned him that because when he dropped me off home that day his eyes told me that he was looking forward to have that evening with me even after all those arguments we always have. I owned him that.
"So you are telling me that boss asked you to be his plus one at that gala?" Emma asks for fifth time and Sammy was looking ready to throw fits if I were to decline my previous statement.
I nod, "Yes, Emma, he did."
"oh my god", Sammy was on her feet, shrieked and threw a cushion to the opposite wall and Emma well! Emma had her head in both her hands and was gushing like her celebrity crush just proposed her.
"Your boss is gorgeous and to have the chance to go to a heavily rich gala" –Sammy gushes- "I mean if only I weren't bi."
"You guys" –I sigh.
"Lily" I look up to Emma who says, "tell me you are joking." I shake my head, "no, in fact the reason I told you guys was because I need help."
"with what?" Sammy asks.
"Everything."
That was true, I knew no shit about how to dress up or apply little makeup. All I could do was a lipstick and mascara, I don't even know how others are capable to do eyeliners let alone get them done straight.
Fuck my life!
"You have a dress?" Emma asks.
I shake my head.
"any ideas how are you going to do makeup?"
I shake my head.
"what is the theme, Lily girl?"
I shake my head, "all I know is that I have to wear a dress of red in colour and I don't have gala-worthy clothes."
A dull moment of silence later, I watch Emma and Sammy turn to face each other with cheeky grins on their faces. "We are going shopping." Both yell in unison and high-fi each other. Dumbfound I stare at them. They were pretty much more excited than me.
I mean excited would not be the word I'd like to use when it comes to Jeremy. That handsome idiot makes me want to strangle him for a moment and for another makes me re-think whether or not do I truly know him behind his name or is just me that has to keep up with his bi-polar behaviour.
Ugh, fucking pain in ass!
So, conclusion came out that Sunday afternoon we head out for shopping and lunch all together. I wasn't much of a shopping person but hey I needed that red dress so yeah, I had too, plus Emma and Sammy accompanying me or should I say going shopping for me and it was over-whelming and warm.
Bed-time for others rolled in but before they could get in I knock on their door and as usual Sammy opens. I return her the previous 3 books she'd give me, "thanks Sammy." She takes them from my hand and makes her way towards her bookshelf, placing them back in their previous spot.
