chapter nine

Lily

A week went by since I started working for Jeremy. Emma and other have been so nice to me. We had the sleepover to Emma's for this weekend. For the moment I walked in my cabin, placed my bag on the desk and sat back on the seat. A minute of relaxation later the intercom buzzes.

"Miss Pierce" - I sit back straight and clear my throat- "Morning Sir" "bring me my schedule in next 10 minutes" and the com goes off. Ugh! This handsome idiot! For the next second I was scrambling my bag, fishing out the notepad and jotting down his schedule.

I knock on the door and after reply walk in to see Jeremy in grey pants, white dress shirt and grey suit jacket but hair a little unruly. Clearing my throat I extend the notepad which he not so gracefully snatches from my hold.

His gaze sweeps over the page for a whole minute; one could hear the gears running in his head. "Cancel this board meeting and for that time call the CEO of Kristoff Empire- Jayden Kristoff and his team" - I nod but a second later he frowns, raising his hand- "wait, don't place call, I'll do that, just cancel the board meeting."

I nod my head, "alright."

"and Miss Pierce?" "Yes Sir"

"prepare the conference room, get coffees and some snacks arranged by 11:30"

"noted"

It was somewhere around 11 and I had all the necessary stationary arranged, electronics like projector checked and made a mic test, and was waiting for a green signal about coffee and the snacks. My phone's ringer plays and I groan watching the caller id, resisting the urge to roll my eyes.

Fucking pain in ass!

Swiping to answer, I put the phone to my ear, "Is everything arranged, Miss Pierce?" "yes Sir" I roll my eyes. "Alright, they are going to be here in next 10 minutes, as much as I know Jayden he likes to play the act of punctuality and responsibility combined with a little trickery." Ah, this idiot knows the strategies used by his enemies, I am impressed.

"I am sure Sir, you are smarter than him and will trick him into agreeing for the contract" oh my fucking goodness, did I just compliment Jeremy? Fuck Me! the fuck is wrong with me? "I...umm..." Before I could cover up for my previous statement I hear his chuckle, "I appreciate the compliment Miss Pierce and fingers crossed."

We were no friends anymore then why the fuck we were talking like ones?

"Have you given a double check to everything?" I roll my eyes and groan internally, this man is unbelievable, "Yes, Sir, I'll meet you up at the conference room." "okay" and off goes the call. For a minute he talks as if we were friends for years and for the very next moment his professionally bland tone comes back. This man, I swear to God, if only I can strangle Jeremy Langford.

The coffees and snack were ready and I was waiting at the conference room door. Emma texted me giving a green signal upon Kristoff and team's arrival. Several boots clicking on the floor, I sigh and look up. Jeremy was walking beside a man with dirty blonde hair in a dark brown suit appearing to be in his 20s and a few men following him.

So I am guessing the man in dark brown suit is Jayden Kristoff.

Jeremy gestures towards the room and says, "let's head in gentlemen." "and who shall be her?" the man in dark brown suit, basically the leader of the gang asks. I watch Jeremy's jaw tick and grind for a mere fraction of second but he was faster than me in answering, "this is my PA Miss Lily Pierce."

I smile weakly and nod, "Good Morning People." The dark brown suit nods, his gaze lingering on me for a longer than necessary. One could sense Jeremy's patience losing thin but he clears his throat, "lets head in people." I shift, move back allowing all those suitheads to enter the room and get settled.
