Zenigata was walking through the supermarket, leaning against his cart as he looked around. He had a day off of work and used it to fill up his empty fridge that surely will be empty at the end of the night anyways.

As Zenigata was looking around, he didn't quite notice someone standing in his way until his cart bumped into them, making them drop the fruit that they were holding.

"Ah-I'm so sorry, here let me help you-I'm so sorry, clumsy me, what can I say," He said, trying to make the person he bumped into laugh which worked but the laughter faded when the person looked at the man before them.

"K-Koichi?" The man froze, "Why did you call me-" he looked up at who the person he bumped into and his eyes widened.
"Y-Y/n... um-" The woman before him was no other than his ex-girlfriend who he dated in his college years.

Y/n smiled big and went to hug him, "It's been so long. How are you?" She asked and Zenigata slowly hugged back. "I-I've been doing good. What about you?" He asked as they parted from the hug.

"Oh everything's good. What are the chances, huh? Didn't expect you to be... well, here," Y/n said and Zenigata chuckled nervously.

"I am sorry that I bumped into you, I truly am-"

"No, no, it's fine. Really..." She said and silence filled the room between the two.
Zenigata gulped and rubbed the back of his neck, "So... I've heard that... you're working as a d/c (dream career)," Y/n looked at him, "Yeah, it's paying very good, like I was hoping for and my boss have actually talked about giving me a promotion,"

"Th-That's wonderful, I... I know you've been working very hard to... be where you are today..." he said and Y/n played with her bracelet.

"Yeah... s-so have you... world known officer, trying to catch Lupin and all... Must be tough..."

"Yeah, well... Sometimes, sometimes..." he said and glanced at her, admiring her. She hadn't changed a bit from college, after all these years.

Zenigata felt his heart beat faster and he gulped, "So... have you... ya know... d-dated anyone since..."

"Hm? Um, y-yeah I... I tried after college but... didn't find the right one... What about you?" She asked and Zenigata shock his head, "No, I... haven't really had the time or... confident I guess..." He said and Y/n nodded as it got quiet once more.

"Um... it was really nice to talk with you, Koichi-I mean, Zenigata. But, I think I have to go,"

"Oh, um... sure... But, would you like to... I don't know, maybe meet up sometimes for coffee?" Y/n smiled, "Sure, when?"

"N-Next Saturday? At c/p (coffee place)?" Y/n smiled, "I'll be there by 3," She said and left.

Zenigata smiled as she left. Happy he got to see her once more... His smile faded and he sighed, "Who an I kidding, of course she's not gonna love me back now. It's been years and... she's of course not gonna like me after what she said in college..."
