A/N: In this, Lupin and the others aren't thieves. They're normal students between middle school and up to high school.

Y/n sat on the bench in the park with a book in his hands. The wind blowing in his h/l h/c hair when a ball rolled over and bumped into his feet.

He put down the book and picked up the basketball to see a pair of feet before him.
He looked up to be meet with a boy in his age. He had black hair with matching eyes.

Y/n recognized him as his classmate.
"Could I get that back?" The boy spoke and Y/n held it to him. The black-haired boy took it back and smiled at the h/c haired bookworm.

"You wanna play with us?" Y/n looked behind him to see some other kids at the basketball area.

"N-No, I'm not really... good at sports,"

"Oh come on, it's fun! I'll teach you!" Y/n quickly grabbed his book before the other boy could drag him over to the others.

"The name is Lupin the third! And from this day, you're my best friend!"

☾ Last year of Junior High ☽

"Goemon, our that katana down! Jigen, N/n (nickname)! Get him to stop," Lupin complained.

"He's just testing out his katana skills, Lupin. Let him be," Jigen spoke and Y/n chuckled but it fell when he noticed a bunch of girls by the school entrance as they watched Lupin.

Jigen noticed Y/n's change of mood and held a hand on his shoulder. Y/n smiled, reassuring him everything was good but Jigen knew it wasn't.

"I'm just a friend to him..." Y/n mumbled and Jigen sighed as he watched Lupin walk up and flirt with the girls and Jigen gritted his teeth.

☾ Last year of high school ☽

Lupin and Jigen walked towards the school when Lupin noticed Y/n stand by the gate, talking to Goemon.

Lupin noticed Y/n laughed and Goemon huffed with a smile. The monkey looking boy sneaked up behind Y/n and hugged him around the neck. "Hey N/n!"

Goemon snickered when Y/n blushed, "H-Hey T-Tooru..."

The boys went to class and Lupin started to crack jokes with Y/n before the teacher walked inside and Y/n smiled as he gazed at Lupin.

It was lunch break and Lupin walked through the hallways of school when one of his classmates walked over, "Hey Lupin! Where's your boyfriend at?" They joked and Lupin huffed, "N/n is just a friend,"

Y/n who stood a couple of feet away with Jigen and Goemon looked down at the floor, his hair covering his eyes.
"Hey, it's time to tell him," Goemon said

"This year may be your only chance... it's time to man up, L/n (Last name)," Jigen said and held a hand on his shoulder.

Y/n stood beside Lupin as he talked to the girls that liked him. Y/n stood a bit behind Lupin as he tried to get his friend's attention.

"Lupin? Could I ask-"

"Get away ugly, you're such a nerd," some girls said as they pushed him back.

Lupin glanced back at Y/n and they made eye contact but instead of telling the girls off. He just turned back to the others and Y/n looked down at the ground before leaving.

Y/n stepped into the gym as it started to rain, Jigen who was breathing heavily after a match of basketball with Goemon was the first one to notice him and the hurtful look on his face.

He walked up to him with Goemon behind him. "Y/n, what happened?" Y/n blinked to try and keep the tears inside and told them about the look Lupin had given him and that he didn't talk to the girls for saying such thing to his so called best friend.

The other two frowned as they listened to him. Lupin then stepped inside the gym and Y/n fixed his bag and turned to walk out, "Y/n? You're not staying?"

"Sorry, Jigen- My parents has some stuff they need me to do in the library..." Y/n spoke and walked out. He glanced at Lupin but as soon as they made eye contact, he looked away.

Lupin widened his eyes and then turned to the other two when Y/n was gone.
"What was that about-?"

"How can you be so blind?! You're such an asshole,"

"Jigen is right!"

They said and Lupin looked at them, "What are you two talking about?"

"We talk about that Y/n have been in love with you ever since the start of your friendship. Don't come here and say that you haven't noticed because we know, heck the whole school even knows he loves you! Why do you think they joke about him being your boyfriend?! And today, I've had it with you and your attitude. The oh so great fan girls you got pushed him away from you, his friend, and called him names. And you didn't do shit! What you did was look away like their words were true. So go after him and set things right!" Lupin had a look of realization on his face at what Jigen had said.

"Shit," he mumbled as he quickly ran after Y/n.

Jigen sighed and rubbed his head as he felt a headache form "Jigen just sounded like a mother," Goemon mumbled and Jigen glared at him.

"Y/n...! N/n!" Lupin called.
He had visited Y/n's home only for his parents to say that he wasn't there.

Lupin cursed under his breath when he realized... Y/n's favorite place.
He quickly ran towards the place they first meet, the rain causing his hair to stick to his forehead.

As he arrived at the park. He saw Y/n sit on the bench he sat on when they first meet.
Lupin got an idea when he noticed a tennis-ball someone had forgotten behind and he carefully rolled it so it bumped onto his feet.

Lupin walked over and Y/n looked up at him. "Why are you here, Lupin? Shouldn't you be at the gym? And have all those girls all over you," Lupin grabbed Y/n's arm and dragged him up to make him stand onto his feet. "Let me go,"

"The name is Lupin the third-"

"I-I know but what are you-"

"and from this day, you're my boyfriend!"

"-doing..." Y/n continued, shocked at Lupin's words.

"I love you, Y/n. And I'm sorry for what I've said and how I've treated you recently. I was just scared I guess... That I would be made fun off for being into guys too but... I know that loosing you was much worse than loosing my popularity... So, do you Y/n L/n want to be my boyfriend?"

Y/n stared at him when Lupin noticed he started to cry and so he hugged him tightly to his chest.

"Yes," Y/n spoke softly and Lupin parted from the hug to look at him to see Y/n was smiling, crying of joy. "Yes I will be your boyfriend, Lupin... I love you too,"
