Valentine's Day, the day of love, the day to appreciate your lover.

Y/n was on their way to see see Rebecca, they had been buying some flowers and chocolate for her, cliché, I know.
But they also had a slight surprise in their jacket pocket.

Y/n arrived at the building and walked inside to be meet by Robson, Rebecca's butler.
"Good evening Robson,"

"Good evening, Y/n. Here to see Rebecca?" Y/n chuckled and held up their gifts for their girlfriend.

Robson smiled, "Follow me," he said and walked off with Y/n following behind him.

They soon arrived by a door and Robson knocked on the door. "Miss Rebecca, Y/n you have a guest," Robson said... Rebecca took some time to answer. Robson and Y/n looked at each other and Robson opened the door to see Rebecca by the curtains.

"What are you doing?" Rebecca turned to them quickly, "Nothing!" Robson sighed and moved, "Like I said, you have a guest," Rebecca smiled big when she saw Y/n and she ran over and hugged them, "Y/n!" She said and she kissed them. Y/n chuckled and returned it.

When they parted, Y/n held out the flowers and chocolate, "Happy Valentine's Day, Rebecca," Rebecca looked at the gifts and smiled as she took on them.

Robson closed the door to leave the two and Y/n rubbed their neck, "I know flowers and chocolate on Valentine's Day is... a bit cliché, but... I hope you like it-" Y/n was cut off when Rebecca smiled them tightly and Y/n kissed their face all over, causing them to chuckle.

"Okay, okay, Rebecca, I get it," Y/n chuckled as they looked down at Rebecca, thank god she didn't have lipstick on.

"So you like it?"

"No, I love it! Thank you, Y/n," Y/n smiled as Rebecca walked off to put the flowers in a vase some feet away.

Y/n looked around the room to see the curtains move. Y/n looked over and then back at Rebecca. "Um, Rebecca... is there something behind the curtains?" Rebecca seemed to freeze which showed that they were right.

"It's nothing, it's just the wind," she said, trying to sound logic but Y/n saw right through her and began to walk up to the curtains.

"Wait, Y/n, don't-" when Y/n removed the curtains, their eyes widened to see...

Y/n dropped their arms to their sides and stared at the man before them. Lupin chuckled nervously, "Hi," he said and slightly waved.

Y/n frowned and turned to Rebecca who looked between the two before fully look at Y/n "Rebecca, why is he here?" Rebecca stepped closer to them, "We were only talking, Y/n,"

"Really? Just talking? If you just talked, why did you hide him?" Rebecca tried to say something but nothing came out.

Y/n huffed and shook their head, "Some girlfriend you are... cheating on Valentine's Day..." They mumbled and walked over towards the door but Rebecca grabbed their arm, "No! Y/n you got it all wrong! I-It's not what you think!" She said and Y/n glanced back at her with a glare.

Rebecca stared at them, shocked by their glare. "Don't fucking touch me," they growled and broke their arm free from her grasp, not knowing something fell from their pocket as they walked away.

Rebecca was on edge to cry when she noticed the small med like bottle.
She stared at it in shock and she covered her mouth with her hand.

"Are you okay, Rebecca?" Lupin asked as he walked over to her to see the bottle.
His eyes slightly widened and Rebecca went off to catch up to Y/n.

But when she was outside of the house, she couldn't find them. "Damn it," she mumbled and took out her phone to try and call them.
No answer.

Where could they be...

Rebecca suddenly widened her eyes as she remembered where they first meet.
She took off, her feet not allowing her to stop or slow down.

As she got to the cliff, her heart skipped a beat at the sight before her. Y/n stood by the edge, at the very edge of the cliff. It looked like they were about to jump... "Y/n!" Rebecca yelled and Y/n turned to look at her, shocked to see her holding their meds bottle.

Their eyes red and puffy from crying, "Back of from the edge, Y/n..." Rebecca said but Y/n didn't move, "Why should I? You were my last hope in actually feeling happy but... Looks like my love and happiness was waisted on a cheater,"

"I told you, it's not like that! Lupin and I are friends! I would never go back to him!" Y/n stared at her, "Back to him?" Rebecca rubbed the back of her neck, "He... he's my ex-husband... kind of,"

"Ex-husband? You're friends with your ex-husband?"

"Yes, so what? Why do you sound so angry about that!" Rebecca asked and Y/n walked over to her to stand before her.
"Haven't you heard? If you're friends with your ex, you either never loved each other in the first place... or you're still in love," Rebecca slightly gasped and she shook her head.

"Y/n, I-"

"Save it... You should go with him. You're both thieves... I'm just a normal and boring civilian who has problems. I didn't want to bother you with my problems which is why I never told you... I was feeling better after I meet you... after we became lovers... I even felt happy about my life..."

They took out a small black box from their pockets and Rebecca widened her eyes, "I even planned to ask for your hand... but I guess... my love for you was stronger than yours was for me... if you even loved me at all from the beginning,"

"I did! I still do! Y/n, I love you! Please... don't leave..." Y/n stared at Rebecca's now crying face. "Can I have my meds back..." they mumbled and Rebecca slowly held it out but quickly held them close to her chest, "I hand them to you... if you promise not to leave this life behind," she mumbled.

Y/n sighed and rubbed their arm... "I don't know Rebecca... I don't know if I can promise that," Rebecca cried more and laid her head against their chest, "Please... just a little longer... Don't end it just yet," she mumbled and Y/n sighed before nodding.
