Y/n was in the kitchen doing the dishes when she felt someone hug her from behind and rubbing her child caring stomach.

"Good morning, Jigen," Y/n said, not looking back at him as he kissed her cheek. "Morning, love," he growled in his morning voice.

"I just made breakfast, it's on the table," She said and Jigen walked to take a seat.
"Anything planes for the week?" Jigen who was about to take a bite of the food stopped his hand and put it back down. "Actually... I, um... I've plans for a longer time than... just a week," Y/n dried her hands and looked at him.

"What do you mean?" She asked and walked over to the table and sat down on the opposite side of the table.

Jigen sighed, "Here goes nothing..." he mumbled and looked at her to continue, "Lupin is planing on a heist in... in Brazil..." "Okay but, I don't see anything wrong with it? You, Lupin, and Goemon always get what you want in what, a week before you all return, am I right?" "Yes love, but this is different. I can't give you the details but what we're gonna steal this time is something that'll be— One, hard to take, and two, hard to smuggle out of the country without anyone knowing it's gone," Y/n looked down at the wooden table "So... how long?" "I don't really know but... Lupin says max... um... 2-3 months..." Y/n eyes widened and she caressed her 6 months growing stomach.

"The baby will already be born, Jigen,"

"I know, love. I tried to change Lupin's mind in doing this some other time when the baby is born but... apparently our target will be much more secure if we wait, he have already sent a warning to Zenigata as well..." he said and looked at his wife who rubbed her stomach with a sad expression.

"Y/n?" As Jigen said her name, tears streamed down her cheeks and Jigen panicked as he stood and walked over to her and crouched down to look up at her, "Hey now, love. Please don't cry," He said and wiped away her tears and she looked at him, "I want you here when it's time, Jigen," "I know, love... I tried to reason with Lupin but... he won't budge,"

Y/n sniffled and Jigen moved his hand to hold her stomach. "If you can't be here in time... come back alive, that's all I'm asking for right now. For you to come back alive," Jigen smiled and kissed her lips. "I'm always careful, love. And I promise that'll I'll come back unharmed,"

Jigen was sitting in the car with Lupin driving and Goemon in the back. Jigen looked at a picture of him and Y/n when they first meet.

"Relax Jigen, she'll be alright, she's stronger than she looks," Lupin said and Jigen huffed with a smile. "Yeah... I know that very well,"

"Dammit," Jigen mumbled as he had two opponents surrounding him.
He shoot bur a rare thing happened... they dodged his bullets and before Jigen could blink, another sword man came up from behind and peered his heart.

Jigen let out a noise of pain and both Lupin and Goemon turned to see him fall to the ground.

"Jigen!!"

It's been 3 days since her son was born and today was the day she would take her little treasure back home.

Y/n opened the door to her home and put all the bags down and looked down at the sleeping baby in her arms. "My little treasure... you'll meet your daddy soon, I promise," Y/n mumbled and walked towards the baby crib Jigen and Y/n had put up in their room.

Y/n sighed and walked back to the bags to put away everything where they should when the doorbell ringed.

Y/n's eyes shined as she quickly ran over and opened the door to reveal Lupin and Goemon... but no Jigen.

Y/n's smile slightly faded and she looked up at the two men before her. "W-Where's Jigen?"

She looked at Goemon who shook his head and looked away so she turned to the red jacket wearing man, "Lupin? Where is Jigen?" She asked more demanding and Lupin walked up to her and hugged her.

"Lupin, answer me—"

"He's gone..." Y/n froze as her life with Jigen flashed before her eyes and she teared up. "No... y-you're lying, you must be..." Lupin's heart seemed to break at her sentence and he parted from the hug but held onto her shoulders and looked her into the eyes, "We were fighting, he had two opponents around him when another one came and... peeress his heart... it was too late to save him... I'm sorry, Y/n," Her tears finally fell when she heard her son crying from the bedroom. She quickly walked over and picked him up and rocked him in her arms. "Come stop your crying, it will be alright... Just take my hand, hold it tight. I will protect you from all around you. I will be here, don't you cry..."

Lupin and Goemon stood in the doorway, listening to her soothing song even while crying. Her son slowly fell back to sleep and Y/n put him back down.

Y/n leaned on the crib and looked away from Lupin and Goemon.

"He promised me..."

"Huh?" The two asked and Y/n turned to them, trying her harden at not to cry. "I said that if he can't be here when our child is born... he has to come back alive... and he promised me... That bastard," Y/n mumbled and sat down on the edge of hers and Ji—Well... now only her bed.

"Thank you both for... coming and tell me..."

Goemon and Lupin nodded and was about typ leave when Goemon turned back to her, "Y/n, we may not be Jigen. But we both will help you raise your child if... it get too tough," Y/n sniffled and smiled at him, "Thanks Goemon,"

And with that... the two left.

Y/n looked towards the window and wiped away her tears to notice her wedding ring... she smiled. "My promise to you, Jigen... I'll fight even when you're not around,"
