Chapter Twenty One

Edeline’s P.O.V
It was the next day and it was the day of mine and Harry’s trial at the Ministry and I was sitting at the table in the kitchen thinking to myself about everything that had happened recently until I was brought out of my thoughts when I felt someone tap my shoulders a few times and I looked to see that it was George as he sat down next to me, “how are you feeling?” he asked me and I shrugged a little, “I’m alright I guess.” I told him and the both of us talked for a while as we ate breakfast and had a few laughs before we were finished eating and both Harry and I had to leave for the Ministry with Mr. Weasley, “are you two ready?” Mr. Weasley asked us, “yeah” we both said to him before we left the house until we walked towards a telephone booth, “here we are. I’ve never used the visitors entrance before. Should be fun.” Mr. Weasley said to us before we walked inside, “I’ll just get my Muggle Money.” he said before he had done so and we had started going down until we made it to the Ministry and walked down a large hallway as I looked around until we made it to the elevators and walked into one of them before seeing flying paper planes, “We used to use Owls, the mess was unbelievable.” Mr. Weasey said before Kingsley walked in before Mr. Weasley spoke up again, “Merlin's beard. Thank you Kingsley.” we heard him say, “what is it?” I asked him hoping that it wasn’t anything bad, “they’ve changed the time of your hearing.” he told us, “when is it?” Harry asked him, “in 5 minutes.” Mr. Weasley told us and I sighed a little. After a while, most of the people that were on the elevator were gone now until we got to where we needed to be and the three of us soon got off only to eventually hear other voices and soon saw that it was Malfoy and the Minister and we just stood there for a moment looking at each other and I looked directly at Lucius remembering that he was there the night Voldemort came back before Mr. Weasley pulled us away and we eventually made it before stopping, “remember, during the hearing speak only when you are spoken to. Keep calm, neither of you have done nothing wrong.” Mr. Weasley told us, “but to them, they think otherwise.” I said to him before we eventually Harry and I walked in.

After a while, as the some of the Ministry were talking amongst each other before the Minister had everyone quiet down before he spoke up, “disciplinary hearing for the 12th of August into offenses committed by Harry James Potter Resident at Number 4 Privet Drive Little Whinging and Edeline Fawn Lupin Resident at the Forest Cottage. Interrogators, Cornelius Ozwald Fudge-” the Minister began to say before hearing Dumbledore speak up as he walked in, “witness for the defense, Albus Percival Wolfric Brian Dumbledore.” he said to them, “you got our message that the time and place of the hearing had been changed.” the Minister asked him, “I must have missed it but by a lucky mistake, I arrived at the Ministry 3 hours early. Charges?” Dumbledore said to them, “the charges against the accused are as follows, that they did knowingly  and in full awareness of the illegality of their actions, produced a Patronus Charm in the presence of a Muggle. Do either of you deny Producing said Patronus?” the Minister, “no'' the both of us said and before Harry could continue the Minister cut him off, “and were either of you aware that the both of you are forbidden to use Magic outside school while under the age of 17?” the Minister asked us, “yes, but-” Harry said but was cut off again, “Witches and Wizards of the Wizardingmont-” the Minister said before Harry spoke up, “We were only doing it because of the Dementor’s” Harry said to them, “Dementor’s, in Little Whining?” the woman asked, “he’s telling the truth, otherwise we wouldn’t have done it in the first place.” I said to them, “that’s quite clever. Muggle’s cant see Dementor’s can they? Highly convenient.” the Minister asked, “Well clearly, you thought wrong because I’m curious as to why they attacked his cousin in the first place.” I said to them, “we’re not lying and if we hadn’t-” Harry tried to say, “enough. I’m sorry to interrupt what I’m sure would have been a very well rehearsed story, but since neither of you can produce no witnesses of the event-” the Minister said before Dumbledore interrupted, “pardon me Minister, but as it happens we can.” Dumbledore said before Mrs. Figg came into the room and both Harry and I got up and sat somewhere on the side as she talked with the Ministry, “Please describe the attack. What did they look like?” the woman asked Mrs. Figg, “well, one of them was very large and the other two rather skinny.” Mrs. Figg said to them, “not the children, the Dementor’s.” Fudge told her, “oh right, right well, big. Cloaked. Then everything went cold, as though all of the happiness had gone from the world.” Mrs. Figg explained to them, “Look here, Dementor’s don’t just wander into a Muggle superb and happen across a couple of Wizards, the odds of that are astronomical.” the Minister said to everyone, “I don’t think anyone would believe that Dementor’s were there by coincidence, Minister.” Dumbledore said to him before someone else spoke up, “I’m sure I must have misunderstood you Professor, Dementor’s are, after all, under the control of the Ministry of Magic. It’s so silly of me but it sounded for a moment, as though you were suggesting that the Ministry had ordered the Attack on the children.” she said to Dumbledore, “didn’t sound like that to me at all.” I whispered to Harry before they continued, “that would be disturbing indeed Madam undersecretary. Which is why I am sure the Ministry will be mounting a full scale inquiry into why the three Dementor’s were so very far from Azkaban and why they mounted an attack without authorization. Of course there is someone who might be behind the attack.” Dumbledore said to them before he walked closer to the Minister, “Cornelius, I implore you to see reason. The evidence that the Dark Lord has returned is incontrovertible.” Dumbledore said to the Minister, “he’s not back.” The Minister said, “In the matter of Harry Potter and Edeline Lupin, the law clearly states that Magic may be used before Muggles in life threatening situations.” Dumbledore mentioned, “laws can be changed if necessary Dumbledore.” the Minister said, “clearly and to become practiced to hold criminal trials to deal with a simple matter of underaged Magic.” Dumbledore told them, “those in favor of conviction?” the woman said and some of them raised their hands before she spoke up again, “those in favor of clearing the accused of all charges.” she said and more people raised their hands, “cleared of all charges.” the Minister said and I looked at Harry before we noticed Dumbledore leave, “Professor.” Harry said but Dumbledore ignored him as he continued to walk away and eventually, we met up with Mr. Weasley and the three of us left the Ministry. 

Rosalie’s P.O.V
After Harry and Edeline made it back with Arthur, Edeline had gone straight upstairs before hearing a door slam shut, “seems like your daughter is upset about something.” Sirius said to Remus and I, “something must have gotten her like that at the Ministry today. I’ll go talk to her.” I said to them before heading upstairs and gently knocked on her door, “Edeline darling, can I come in?” I asked her before opening the door to see her lying down on the bed and I sighed to myself before closing the door and went over to her, “what happened love? Did something happen?” I asked her before she whipped the tears away, “they don’t believe us. They think it was all a coincidence about what happened at Harry’s the other day.” She said to me, “don’t worry about it too much love. I believe you and so does your father and everyone else. The Ministry doesn’t know what you’ve been through. What either of you have been through but at some point soon, they will come to see that you both are telling the truth about everything.” I told her and I hugged her and she hugged me back before Remus came into the room with something in his hand, “I thought this might cheer her up a little.” he said before coming over to us and gave her a cup of hot chocolate, “thanks dad.” she said before taking a sip from it, “how are you feeling?” he asked her, “better now.” She said and both Remus and I continued to hang out with her for a while longer before the three of us had decided to go to bed for the night and once Remus and I had gone to our room, I let out a sigh, “what’s wrong?” Remus asked me as he hugged me, “everything. I want to help her but I don’t know how.” I told him, “I know darling, I know. We will get through this alright.” he told me and I nodded, “alright.” I said to him before the both of us shared a kiss and I had decided to take a bath and as soon as I got into the tub, Remus had walked into the room and I smiled a little before he eventually joined me in the tub and the both of us just stayed there for a while before we eventually went to bed for the night.
