His Little Secret

Marriage with Jimin has always been... sweet.

He's the kind of husband who brings me breakfast in bed, texts me cheesy compliments in the middle of work meetings, and still looks at me like I'm the only person in the world.

Every day felt like a dream.

So naturally, when I noticed the tiny changes, the cold late-night showers, the sudden locked drawer in his office, the quiet stares when he thought I wasn't looking, I told myself it was just stress. We'd both been busy lately. I didn't want to be the paranoid wife.

But curiosity has a way of clawing through silence.

One night, Jimin left his office door unlocked. I stood in front of the drawer I wasn't supposed to touch and, against my better judgment... I opened it.

Inside were photos. Dozens of them.

But not of me.
Of a woman.

She was beautiful, soft eyes, long dark hair, and the smile of someone who once meant something.

I stared at them, frozen. There were notes too. Letters. A necklace.

"Looking for something?" His voice startled me. I turned, guilt already rising in my throat.

"I thought... I thought maybe you were cheating on me," I confessed, feeling small.

He looked down at the photos, then walked over and gently closed the drawer. "She was my fiancée," he said softly. "Before you. She died five years ago. A car crash... drunk driver."

My heart dropped.

"I... didn't know," I whispered.

"You weren't supposed to," he said, eyes misty but calm. "That drawer is my way of remembering her. I loved her. Deeply. But she's gone. And I chose you, Y/N. Every day, I choose you."

A long pause passed between us. Then, gently, he took my hand.

"I never told you because I didn't want my past to haunt our present. But if you'd asked, I would've told you everything." I nodded slowly, guilt and relief washing over me like cold rain.

"I'm sorry I didn't trust you," I said quietly. He kissed my forehead, holding me close. "It's okay. Just don't forget, love doesn't mean erasing the past. It means choosing the future, together."

And in that moment, I realized,
Everyone carries a story.
Even the ones we marry.

But sometimes, the twist isn't betrayal...
It's the quiet grief they protect us from.

And love, real love, is choosing to stay anyway.
