Loki's Lover

Chapter 31.

Y/n POV:

I woke up still in this stupid hospital bed but thankfully with Loki by my side. He was sleeping with his hand in mine but looked very uncomfortable in that chair.
I frowned and slowly removed my hand from his and slid off the bed. I smiled in victory because I only felt a little pain in my shoulder and stomach but I could walk. I waddled over to the tray of food Thor brought yesterday, pancakes and juice. I began sipping on the juice quietly and kept checked to see if Loki was still asleep, which he was. I noticed sitting on the bed side table was a folded hoodie and tights with a note on top of it. I curiously walked over to the clothing and picked up the note.

Hey babes
I came to check on you but you were sleeping with a drooling puppy watching over you. He literally growled when I came in! When he recognised me he let me come inspect you before I left these clothes for you. If your reading this, come and meet the new spider boy x

I stifled a laugh at her note and quickly changed into the clothes, praying that Loki remained asleep. Once I was fully dressed and had tamed my hair I began to creep towards the door. I had reached the handle before a loud growl erupted through the room, I frowned at the un-human like noise before a pair of familiar strong arms wrapped around my waist.
"Where are you going?" Loki said whilst holding me to his chest,
"Uh to see the team Lokes" I stuttered with a heavy blush coating my cheeks.
"No, I want to keep you a little while longer" Loki said like a child,
"Calm down boy" I giggled whilst un-wrapping his arms from around me,
"I've delayed this long enough, I want to see everyone" I whined,
"Fineee" Loki sighed whilst letting me go and following me out the door. I walked out of the healing wing and towards a staircase leading down to the living room. As I approached the stair case I was quickly swept off my feet and into the arms of Loki.
"Loki! I am perfectly capable of walking" I huffed whilst Loki began walking down the stairs holding me bridal style.
"I know that but it wounds me to see you in pain, solution being I uphold that you don't get injured." Loki said leaving no room for argument. I huffed and leaned back in his arms but a part of me was jumping for joy at his romantic comment.

Was it a romantic comment? Am I just overthinking? Does Loki like me like I like him?

"My love, what are you thinking about?" Loki asked whilst gently placing me on my feet at the bottom of the staircase.
"Uh, who the new team member is" I lied whilst approaching the living room,
"My love, never lie to the God of lies" Loki said whilst looking down at me with a stern look. I stopped dead in my tracks, embarrassed that I got caught and looked down at my feet.
"Sorry....I uh" I scrambled for an answer,
"Y/n?" Bucky said whilst sticking his head around the doorway to the living room,
"Yes buck?" I said thankful for an interruption,
"Come meet Spider-Boy" Bucky said with a frown whilst looking between me and Loki and sensing the tension,
"You alright doll?" Bucky said whilst walking towards me cautiously,
"I am fine bucky" I said quickly to reassure him and began walking into the living room with Loki glaring at Bucky behind me.

As I entered the living room everyone was gathered on the sofa, sitting around like a big family meeting.
"Y/n!! Your awake!" Nat squealed,
"Hey kiddo" Cap smiled,
"Hey guys, where's the new team mate?" I asked, not seeing any new faces.
"Hey spidey get in here!" Tony called out to somebody,
"Coming Mr Stark" A weirdly familiar voice called making me frown.

At that moment, Peter Parker came bounding into the room, making me and Lokis jaws drop.
"Peter!!" I yelled whilst running over to him,
"Y/n!" Peter said happily whilst I ran across the living room towards him, taking note of the confused yet curious avengers seated around us. Once I got to Peter I threw my arms around him with a smile on my face.
PETER IS SPIDER-MAN!!! I kept thinking in my head over and over.
Peter smiled whilst putting his arms cautiously around me. But what I didn't know was that Loki was glaring at Peter over my shoulder, making Peter quickly let go of me and step away politely.
"Your Spider-Man?" I yelled with shock and happiness in my voice,
"Yes I am, I am surprised you took it this well" Peter said with a puppy like laugh,
"Why wouldn't I?" I said slightly confused,
"Oh no it's just because I thought you might get upset or offended that I didn't tell you before when you told me that you could heal people" Peter said nervously,
"Wait so you two know each other?" The other Peter (Quill) said confused,
"Of course!" I said whilst high fiving Peter P,
"We are friends at school" Peter said, returning the high five.
"I thought I recognised your voice on the jet" Loki said, seeming more calm and less angry now making me smile at him.
"How about we celebrate, y/n is home and we have a new avenger!" Thor boomed,
"I shall throw a party tonight!!" Tony said extravagantly,
"Oh god" Nat sighed,
"Tony, your parties are always very over the top" Cap reasoned,
"Just like me?" Tony giggled,
"No but I shall throw a party, in a massive ball room!" Tony said whilst standing up and summoning Jarvis to prepare a giant invite list.
"Here we go again" I shook my head with a laugh,
"What do you mean love?" Loki asked whilst taking another step towards me,
"Tony's parties end up with a bunch of drunk avengers and a lot of hangovers to cure" I grumbled,
"But what do we drink if we can't have alcohol?" Peter whispered to me in a small voice,
"Don't worry there will be a bar which will have soda's for us and MJ and Ned" I reassured him,
"Where allowed to invite them?" Peter said excitedly,
"Of course and to keep your secret I will say that I invited you three" I smiled at him,
"You are the best, thank you thank you thank you" Peter chanted,
"ooOoOOoO Who's MJ?" Sam said raising his eyebrows at Peter,
"Uhhh somebody" Peter blushed,
"And who's Ned y/n?" Bucky said now raising his eyebrows at me making Loki tense next to me,
"There both just friends" I said whilst shoving Peter away from an annoying Sam and Bucky who laughed at our reactions.
"Come along spiderling, I shall give you a grand tour!" Thor said whilst pulling Peter from the room. Peter looked at me and I sent him a thumbs up before he was pulled from the room.
"My love, would you accompany me to my room?" Loki said softly, afraid of rejection. It warmed my heart that he would ask me but I had a feeling he would ask more questions to some that I would have to lie to answer.
"Yes, I'd like that lokes" I smiled before linking my arm in his and walking with him towards his room. Loki looked shocked and surprised that I had put my arm through his as we walked but he brushed it off and smiled down at me with an unreadable expression. I believe Thor told me that this was a romantic gesture between courting couples on Asgard but Loki would know what it meant on midguard, right?

Once we reached Loki's room, Loki ushered me inside and gestured for my to make myself at home. I smiled and sprawled myself out on his bed with a laugh,
"Don't tell me that or I might actually" I joked,
"And we wouldn't want that now would we?" Loki teased making me poke my tongue out at him.

Loki POV:

I looked at my y/n, sprawled across my bed, in my room, and what a sight it was.
In my eyes she has never looked so perfect, wrapped in my adoration for her, yet she doesn't know it yet. I know I love her but does she even like me?
I pushed the antagonising thoughts to the back of my mind and turned my attention to the Angel on my bed.
"You are so beautiful" I stated bravely whilst walking towards the bed at a dangerously slow pace,
"Uh Thank you" she stuttered whilst an adorable blush coated her cheeks making me grin, I loved the effect I had on my Angel but she doesn't know what she does to me.
"Do you trust me darling?" I asked slowly, whilst sitting down beside her on the bed,
"I have said this a million times lokes, Of course I trust you." Y/n said with a gorgeous smile, whilst sitting up to sit cross legged in front of me.
"Then I have only one request of you.." I purred whilst leaning closer to her,
"And what might that be?" She said also leaning in with a seductive whisper, sending shivers down my spine. I looked into her beautiful e/c coloured eyes and found myself searching them for any sign of displeasure. After finding none I leaned in further, our faces only mere inches apart now.
"I want you to ki" I began before a loud bang cut my sentence off. I protectively launched into a position shielding y/n from whoever was at the door as a growl erupted form my chest.
"Nat?!" My darling groaned whilst standing up off the bed as Lady Natasha waltzed into my chambers.
"Lady Natasha" I greeted with a polite expression despite the rage of almost kissing my Angel being interrupted was muffled.
Y/n rolled her eyes before patting my head like a dog and walking over to lady Natasha. I held back a flirtatious comment due to the company we currently had but I was excited for what I had in store for my pet.
"Y/n it's offical, I'm taking you dress shopping for Tony's ball tonight!" Natasha said whilst beginning to pull my love from the room,
"Tomorrow night?" Y/n said with a look of shock,
"May I accompany and protect you ladies on your dress shopping?" I protested, not liking the idea of them going out alone.
"Girls only because your not allowed to see y/n's dress until the party " Lady Natasha said with a dangerous smirk,
"Nat!" Y/n said whilst elbowing the now laughing assassin,
"Anyway what we're you going to say Loki?" Y/n said turning to me once more,
"Uh I was just going to say, I want you to kindly accompany me to the party" I scrambled for a quick cover up,
"I would love that" she said with a smile making me smile as well, it's contagious.
"Anyways Loki, Steve and Sam are taking you to buy a suit so have fun" Lady Natasha giggled before running out the door. I sighed at what was now in store for me as I stood up off my bed and walked towards my Angel,
"Have a marvellous time dress shopping darling" I smirked sarcastically whilst raising her hand to my mouth and placing a teasing kiss on her knuckles,
"And you whilst gentlemen suit shopping" she laughed whilst bowing before me, sarcasm dripping from her voice.
"Bye my love" I laughed at her cuteness and walked her out of my room,
"Bye my prince" I heard her sing whilst I shut my bedroom door making me freeze.
Did she really just say that or am I dreaming? For the first time in forever I blushed at her remark.
Was she just joking or did she mean it?
So many questions running through my cluttered mind made me groan and reach for a book to distract myself with. I opened the nearest one that I borrowed from my last trip to the library with my love.
As I read all I could think was, Maybe this party will result in something good after all...
