Chapter 45.

Y/n POV:

I woke up in a cold sweat, shivering and sweaty. I just had a horrible nightmare from my time in HYDRA. As much as I held back the tears a few escaped. I sobbed quietly as though not to wake Loki beside me. It was still dark outside, meaning it was still night time.

"Baby? Darling look at me" Loki whispered in a panic, a hiccuped sob left my lips as I turned to look at Loki.
"My love why are you crying?" Loki said softly whilst wrapping his arms around me,
"It was so real Loki..." I buried my head in his chest,
"Bad dream Angel?" Loki asked all-knowingly,
"Uh huh" I cried into his chest,
"Darling it pains me to see you cry" Loki said whilst lying back down with me on top of him,
"What can I do to make it better?" Loki asked me slowly, I looked up from his chest through my watery eyes,
"Stay with me." I said softly,
"I wouldn't dream of leaving you my love" Loki said with a smile whilst cupping my face with his hands and wiping my tears away with his thumb.

I started to rest my head on Lokis chest as his hands rhythmically through my hair. But every time I closed my eyes I would see Marco?
I tried to shake the image out of my head but no matter what I kept seeing Marco.

Feeling more awake and determined I got up off Lokis chest and began to climb out of bed.
"My love where are you going?" Loki said whilst quickly standing up and out of bed,
"I have to go see him" I mumbled whilst throwing a hoodie over my pyjamas and sliding on a pair of shoes.
"Go see who?" Loki asked whilst walking over and standing over me in the dark.
"Marco." I said whilst trying to walk towards the door,
"The man from HYDRA?" Loki said whilst catching my arm and holding me in place,
"Yes I need to see him" I said urgently,
"Y/n I don't know about this" Loki said,
"That's fine, you can stay here I'll be back by sunrise" I said whilst leaning up and kissing his cheek,
"I wouldn't dare let you set foot out of this tower without me especially at night." Loki said sharply,
"I need to go lokes, I have to" I said whilst looking Loki in the eyes desperately.
"Fine, I'm driving" Loki grumbled whilst shape shifting into some more appropriate clothes making me smile.

I led Loki out of my room and creeped downstairs to the elevator. I left a note in the kitchen, telling the avengers that me and Loki had gone to shield. On the way past I checked the time to see it was 4:30am.

Loki and I went all the way down to the garage and jumped into an SUV which's till had its keys in the ignition. Loki drove us out of the tower and out into the night. The cold New York City was deserted with not a single soul in sight. Somehow Loki knew the way to shield and drove us their quickly.
"Thank you for doing this Loki. I'm sorry I dragged you out of bed." I said guilty whilst glancing over at the tired god beside me.
"Why do you need to this man anyway?" Loki asked a little jealous,
"I saw Marco in my dream, and I've been needing to see him ever since I got back" I said whilst leaning back in my seat.
"Could it not have waited until morning Angel?" Loki yawned,
"I'm sorry." I apologised,
"It's okay, I knew you wouldn't have been able to sleep if we hadn't" Loki chuckled whilst pulling into shield.

Once Loki had parked the car I jumped out and Loki was quick to round the car and grab my hand. We sped walked into the building that was mostly empty but had some employees moping about. I ran up to an old looking receptionist who looked half asleep.

"Hi ma'am do you know where the recent HYDRA agents are being held?" I asked,
"Yes of course they are just downstairs but you do need authorised permission to get down there" The receptionist whose name tag read 'Sheryl'  said tiredly.
"Um actually I'm Y/n L/n and this is Loki Odinson, and we need to see them for further questioning" I lied through my teeth which Lokis grip on my hand tightened. The woman's face held shock and then she nodded whilst handing me a key card.
"This card will open the door but when your finished don't forget to lock the door sweety but just turning the lock" She smiled,
"Thanks Sheryl" I smiled whilst hurriedly jogging over to a set of stairs with Loki right beside me.

I did feel bad for lying to Sheryl but I need to see Marco!

We jogged spent the flight of stairs before coming to a large silver door. I swiped the card through a slot which opened the sealed door making me smirk. Loki entered the room first to find it was a large hallway. I shut the door behind me and we walked down the hallway together. There were glass cells lined up along the hallway, letting us see each HYDRA agent. Most of them were asleep or staring at the wall but some had their eyes glued to me and Loki. I walked past the leader who was in charge of electrocuting me and shivered as he smiled a horrifying smile. I hurried down the hallway until we reached the end of it.

"Marco!" I yelled whilst releasing Lokis hand and running up to a glass cell that separated me from the man before me. Marco was sitting in his cell looking tired but brightened when he saw me.
"Y/n!" Marco said whilst scrambling off his bed and standing before the glass. Lokis hand was quick to grab my hand again possessively.

"Are you okay?" I asked whilst my eyes started to water at the sight of him,
"I'm okay but you! How did you get out?" Marco said with concern,
"That would be thanks to my boyfriend, Loki" I smiled up at Loki who stood over me protectively,
"Boyfriend?" Marco said shocked,
"Yes I'm her boyfriend" Loki said with a glare,
"Are you old enough to have one of those?" Marco scolded like an older brother,
"Yes I can make my own decisions" I rolled my eyes at both protective males.
"How about you are you okay in here?" I said worriedly whilst glancing in his dull looking cell.
"It's alright I guess" Marco scratched the back off his neck,
"I've got to get you out of here as soon as possible" I said,
"Y/n it's 5am in the morning?" Marco said confused,
"Yeah sorry I um, had to come see you" I said with a small smile,
"Marco if it weren't for you and the way you treated me back then I probably wouldn't have survived, thank you" I said gratefully,
"Don't say that y/n, I worked for the people who put you there in the first place" Marco said frustratedly,
"But regardless you helped me and I never got to properly thank you." I said softly with a smile,
"Thanks y/n" Marco smiled making Loki pull me closer to his chest,
"Take good care of her, she's special" Marco said whilst looking above me to Loki,
"I know." Loki said whilst kissing the top of my head before the sound of the big metal door opening was heard.
"And what do we have here?" Director Nick Fury said whilst striding down the corridor towards us,
"Fury" I smiled at the man, little did the avengers know that he was a big softie around the healer.
"Director" Loki said whilst nodding to him respectfully,
"Good morning, I'd didn't realise there were more questions for the HYDRA agents?" Fury glared with his one eye raising an eyebrow at me,
"Sorry..." I mumbled,
"I don't appreciate you lying to Sheryl, y/n" Fury said to me,
"And Loki? I thought we covered everything about you go back to Asga-" Director fury was cut off making me frown,
"Marco is innocent" Loki gritted out, eager to change the conversation, I wanted to know what that meeting was about but Marco was my main focus at the moment.

"I'm sorry but there's been a mistake, Marco helped save me he doesn't belong in this cell" I reasoned with the man whilst handing him the card Sheryl gave me,
"I'll look into it but I think you two should head back to the tower" Fury said with authority,
"Yes Director" Loki said whilst leading me to the door,
"Bye Marco! Bye Nikki" I laughed whilst walking out the door,
"How many times have I told you not to call me that" Fury huffed,
"Bye y/n!" Marco called before I was jogging up those flights of stairs. I felt satisfied and happy to know my friend was okay.
