Hello Everyone!!! 👋👋
A major section of this chapter is about Aahara's past. The section in italics specifically. It's just a heads up in case you all get confused.Once Dad left, I finally had the time to ponder over today's events. So, I went to the balcony and sat on the couche while looking at the evening sky. The sky had decided to show it's breathtaking pink glory. The light breeze only added to my comfort.
After a few minutes of enjoying the nature's glow my mind went back to my family. Nobody was the person I expected them to be. From looking at their interviews to stalking them on social media, I did everything. After doing so I felt that I knew at least something about all of them. Like maybe just a little bit but still something. Yet how everyone treated me today said otherwise.
Dad and some of my brothers had been decent. Aahar was definitely nice. Yet that didn't overrule the fact that nobody even bothered to say a word when Ekansh Bhaiya pushed me or when the twins threatened me. It hurt when they did that. Before coming here, I had like hundreds of scenarios in my mind about how all of this would turn out but none of them were this bad. They didn't have to be this harsh with me.
They all had made it clear that they didn't want any interaction with me. Well some indirectly while others were painfully straightforward. What did I even do? I had no idea why they would hate me this much. Like seriously what's wrong with these people. I just wanted to have my family with me but I guess it's not gonna happen. The thought made me tear up. All the sad memories started clouding my mind.
It was my eighth birthday. I was busy getting ready while my Naani was taking care of all the party arrangements. Naana had gone out because he had some important business to attend to but he promised that he would be back before my birthday party started. I was wearing a purple princess dress with matching shoes and a tiara to go along with it. I was excited because this year I had invited my friends from school. Usually it was just Naana, Naani and me but this year I invited all of them over along with my family.
I had sent several letters to my family asking them to come. I didn't receive any reply yet I still thought that they would definitely come. At that age I was simply, silly and navy. I till that date had believed all the reasons, that Naana and Naani told me, they had for their absolute no interest in my life. Though I was about to realise my mistake. Realise that those reasons were actually excuses. Excuses to trick me.
The party had already started and all the guests had arrived except my family. Naana and Naani were trying their best to distract me and uplift my mood but they weren't very successful at that. Soon it was time to cut the cake. So, I went ahead and cut the cake while everybody sang the birthday song. I lifted the first bite to Naani's mouth and she smiled at me gently. After I was done feeding them both, the helpers took the cake and distributed it to all the guests. By then it was time for the main course.
I was sitting with my grandparents and enjoying the food when a women walked upto us. She was wearing a beautiful dress with a child accompanying her. When I looked closely I realised that she was with Ruby. I realised that she must be her mother. My heart dropped at her sight. Ruby was bad news to me. In my school she was the most famous girl, well before I came along. She was famous for her style and money. While I was simply nice to people and they were nice to me. I helped anyone I could and that earned me a place in everybody's heart at school. Ruby didn't like that.
The woman came and stood infornt of us with Ruby by her side. Ruby had a glint in her eyes, a very happy one at that. I found it strange and unsettling as she always just glared at me whenever possible. She would say mean things but I ignored them just the way Naani told me to.
