"Who do I have to kill?" Naana's voice was menacing, had I been someone else I would have most probably shit my pants, but it was my Naana. My cute Naana.
"Naana it's.. it's.." I tried to say but what could I possibly admit? The fact that Dad had no regard for my privacy, my feelings, and did that. I know he did it for my own good, I know that maybe I have been making a bigger deal than what's necessary, but still there are some boundaries that everyone has and no one, absolutely no one should cross them.
"Baby calm down, tell me what's up?" He asked, stroking my hair and the exhaustion started catching up to me. I just wanted to sleep, but I couldn't.
Though before I could say anything, there was a knock on the door.
"Not now." Naana yelled but I got up and shook my head at him. Wiping my tears, I went to open the door but even before I could see who it was, I was pulled in the tightest hug possible. Chee.
"God I missed my frog." He whispered to me, I smiled in his chest. Chee, my youngest Mammu, he was in his early thirties but the man looked like he just got out of college, with his dark hair and the darkest brown eyes. He was about 6 feet, with a lean built and he was the founder and operator of a leading tech-company. Also, Chee had the best fragrance taste!
"Darsh don't crush her, leave Ra." I heard another voice, my smile widened so much I felt my cheeks hurting. Akka.
Akka was my oldest Mammu, Naana's first child, Aakav Singh, the man was scarey even for me, he had tattoos all over his back, and my Aana's and the names of both of his sons branded on his chest. He was taller than Chee by one or two inches with a built even bigger than Dad's. Being the oldest, he was now taking care of most of Naana's business along side my second Mammu, Rishi Singh.
~Mammi is the hindi for our Mother's brother.
"Shut up Bhai." Chee said but he still released me and I was picked up by a different set of arms. Lifting me up like a baby. Damn his height.
"How's my baby?" Akka asked, he looked tired but when he saw my dried tears, his tired eyes became alert.
"What happened?" He asked, he went and sat down across Naana with me in his lap, caressing my cheek.
"Nothing." I said, now that Akka was here, Dad's sure to die if I spill the truth. Why does this always happens to me?!!
"Aahara." I heard another voice warning me, but it was a female's. Si? I looked up and there she was, standing with arms crossed infront of her. My maternal aunt, Masi, Sanvi Singh. She looked as stunning as ever, wearing a suit with such sharp edges that it could cut anything.
~Masi is the hindi for our Mother's sister.
Si was my Mumma's older twin, faternal twins. When Mumma was one of a lighter skin tone, Si had a tan skin tone, she had a heart shaped face with cat-like eyes and plum red painted lips. The woman was breathtaking beautiful for her age, and the owner of successfull fashion lines. All her clothes screamed 'I can buy your whole existence in the blink of an eye.'
"I-I." I panicked, everybody there was expecting an answer, usually Naana would save me from such situations but this time he himself wanted to know what was up. So, he just leaned against his chair, hands on the table, waiting, waiting for me to speak.
"God! you all, stop ganging up on her." Aana, Akka's wife and my oldest Mammi stepped into the room. Wearing a saree, with her neutral make-up, she went and touched Naana's feet after that she came to me and kissed my forehead then pincked my cheeks.
~Mammi is the hindi for our Mammu's wife.
"Neen, Aahara has been crying on me for the last 30 minutes and I need to know what's happening." Naana said to Aana, who frowned at that.
