"I will drop you too off." Dad said as we were having our breakfast, well Aahar was I was just trying to wake up.
"Why?" Aahara asked making me realise that it must have been a rare occurrence for Dad to do that.
"I have to meet your Principal." Dad said as he shut his laptop, got up and started moving around the kitchen with such ease, it was fascinating to watch him cook.
"Dad makes really good food, Ma would burn down the house if she tried." Aahar whispered to me as he saw my awe, I turned to him and gave him a weird look but he just winked at me.
"Here. Let's go, you too are getting late." Dad said as he handed me a wrapped sandwich while taking my and my twiny's school bags, we both got up and followed Dad to his car, getting in the backseat.
Soon enough the ride started, Aahar was in the front with Dad who was behind the wheel, I was still sleepy as I had developed the habit of sleeping in till late and I just leaned my head on the window and closed my eyes.
"Aahara eat." I heard Dad seconds before I was about to fall asleep, I didn't want to but forcefully opened my eyes and removed the foil wrapped around the sandwich taking a big bite.
It's so delicious.
"Told ya." Aahar said from his seat and I just shugged, enjoying my food.
These people have eyes behind their heads!
"Aahar take care of your sister. Aahara call me if something happens, understood?" Dad asked as he pulled up at the school and both of us mumbled a small 'yeah'.
Getting out of the car, I saw that we needed to cross the road to get to the school gate, I was about to walk when I saw Dad's hand infront of face. I looked at it then up at him, raising a bow.
"I can cross the road you know." I mumbled but still slipped my hand into his when I saw his look. Dad crossed the street with me by his side and Aahar a few steps ahead of us.
Once we reached the gate, Dad didn't leave my hand like I thought he would. He pulled me in with him, Aahar by my other side while all the guards following us stopped at the gate with Revan.
It was hard to miss the people staring at us, mostly staring at Dad. Kids parted ways as he walked in and Dad didn't look at anyone his eyes straight ahead.
Soon I found myself in the Principal's office, the man clearly tensed as he didn't except my father's visit. It was a big and cool office, with a widow from which the school front yard was visible.
"Mr. Singh, we did all the work with the director, was there some mistake?" The man asked, after offering Dad some snacks which he denied.
"Oh no. I am sure my son took care of everything, it's just I wanted to talk to you and see my daughter off on her first day." Dad said and the man nodded, turning to me he gave a warm smile and I smiled back.
"Then why don't you kids go to your classes, they will be starting soon, yes? Oh and take these Aahara, some important documents." He said and I took the folder from him, thanking him.
Dad stepped out for a moment to see us off, I bent down and touched his feet, this time also he didn't say anything but patted my head. He caressed my cheek then ruffled Aahar's hair, telling us to take care and we nodded taking off to our classes.
"Let's get to class." Aahara said and walked me up there, we got inside the class and almost everybody stopped talking looking at us as if we were aliens.
"You're sitting plan's got to be here." Aahar said ignoring everyone, he turned to the paper pinned on the soft board and I followed him. My seat was in the second-last row, it was closest to the window so I was happy but someone was already sitting there and I frowned.
