"That's bullshit!" Witch yelled. If this went on, I will bang my head on some wall. How did we even go from crying over Naani's letter to discussing the property distribution? Then I saw witch open her mouth again and I sighed.
"Dad that can't be possibly true, Ma left all her jewellery to Aahara?" Witch all but sheriked, Kill me.
"Yes." Naana replied, sipping his coffee, right now we were all in the back garden, everyone sitting on couches, swings or chairs. I was obviously not given a place but this time, I took a sit on Ishir Bhiaya's lap beside Arin Bhaiya and Aana.
"Well what about giving it to Sanvi and Sia, then?" The witch, simply won't stop and I was sure that a migraine was on it's way for me, I felt Aana take a hold of my hand and give it a gentle squeeze. Looking down at me she smiled softly, reassuring me to let the matter be, I nodded and leaned my head on Bhiaya's shoulder.
"Ma had already given us everything, during our marriage and after it on several occasions." This time is was Si, and she was also looking on the verge of loosing it. The woman couldn't digest the fact that Naani gave me something and nothing to her daughter.
"Nehal, don't play dumb. Everybody knows how much Ma loved you and your children." Mumma finally snapped and as the good husband, Mammu came for his wife's rescue.
"Sia, I won't have to talking to my wife like that." Mammu said in a firm and dangerous voice, but Mumma didn't back down and only intensified her glare.
Naani didn't practically hate witch and her kids but she had never approved of the woman for Mammu, though she still loved her kids like her other grandchildren, but after everything they did to me Naani's disapproval changed into disgust, towards her and her children. She didn't even tell Naana the whole story, because she knew he would most probably do something that everyone will regret later on.
"But why only my children?" She asked and I grimaced.
"Why don't you look at your actions before you speak!" Akka said barely controlling himself from snapping.
Naani had left, Ishir and Arin Bhaiya their favourite farmhouses that she owned. Then witches kids, both Abishek and Naina got nothing. Hence, witch's drama. Si's only son Tanmay Bhiaya, was given all her bank assets. My elder brothers and sisters all got a significant share of her huge property. Then obviously came my turn and she left me far more stuff compared to the others, her jewellery, home house and apparently a lot of other things that couldn't even keep count of.
All the kids were told about their inheritance according to their age, also her remaining property was distributed evenly between her kids. Tanmay Bhiaya wasn't here, neither were Naina or Abishek, but the disappearance of the last two was explained as they simply didn't care about Naani to show up, but the fact of not getting anything will surely piss them off.
I got up from Bhaiya's lap and went upto Si, she pulled me in her lap and gave me bear hug.
"Bhaiya didn't come?" I asked her, whispering so only Si could hear me.
"No Kiddo, he is late. He had a important match today. Your Si Uncle and him went there. They will be coming soon." She smiled down at me and I nodded my head, buring my face in her shoulder, Si was stroking my hair making me sleepy.
Tanmay Bhiaya was only an year older than me and Aahar, he was a typical joke but one who was afraid of girls. He was the capital of his school's Kabaddi team and the training kept him fit while he had a naturally handsome face.
Si Uncle, my Maussa, was Si's husband. Daya Singh. He was a businessman and one really cool Uncle, most of the teddies that I owned were his gifts only. The man had a rugged look about himself and that by no means looked bad at him, it only gave him a charming enhance and that rugged look was what Tanmay Bhiaya had inherited.
