Memories and a Spark of Light

A couple of days passed and it was Mayu's funeral. Mizuki has recovered and All their friends, especially Hiro, Cass and Callaghan went to pay respect for Mayu. As the coffin was slowly lowered down in a hole, Mizuki couldn't fight her tears from falling. Everyone was looking down and were frowning some were crying. Right after the grave was buried, everyone gathered around Mizuki. "Mayu was a great child like you, Mizuki..." Cass mentioned as she hugged Mizuki for comfort. Mizuki hugged back and thanked her. "I didn't get a chance to meet her in person, but i do expect that she's just like you, Mizuki" Hiro stated. Mizuki lowered down to be on the same level as Hiro and smiled "Hiro, she's almost the same age as you. She's just like you too, very gifted and smart" Hiro coyly smiled at Mizuki, not knowing how to react on her statement so he slightly chuckled and thanked her. Mizuki giggled and stood straight once more "Mizuki, Mayu's a great friend and a great little sister for you. i'd agree with that...." Honey Lemon mentioned as she smiled at Mizuki "yes, she is.... Thank you, Honey Lemon" Mizuki smiled. Callaghan placed a hand on Mizuki's shoulder and looked at her with a small frown. Mizuki understood and nodded at him. "It's been a rough day.. But i should get going, Mizuki.." Callaghan stated "sure, professor. Thank you for visiting Mayu's funeral..." Mizuki slightly smiled. Callaghan nodded with a small smile and left. "Mizuki...." Tadashi muttered as he went next to her. Mizuki faced Tadashi and hugged him for comfort. Tadashi hugged back and slightly pulled away. Mizuki gave him a sad smile and so did he. Wasabi, Fred, Honey Lemon and Gogo tried smiling at them then frowned right after due to the loss that Mizuki had. Hours passed and everybody went home. Mizuki, on the other hand went to the hospital where Mayu last was. She went to her old room and looked around. She saw the bot that she made for her and switched it on. "Hello, i am Neko. You must be Mizuki" the bot said. Mizuki nodded and smiled "where's Mayu?" Neko asked "she's..... Gone.." Mizuki answered "gone? She went out for a walk?" Neko asked as Mizuki shook her head "no... She's no longer here..." Mizuki answered. The bot was somehow confused "will you take me with you? I feel lonely" the bot suggested. Mizuki was quite impressed on such an advanced AI. Mizuki nodded and the bot followed her everywhere. Mizuki saw a small teddy bear under Mayu's blanket and looked at it. Mizuki smiled knowing that it was from Tadashi and so she placed it in her bag and went back to the university while the bot is following her.

As Mizuki arrived in their university, she noticed that everyone kept themselves busy. She then decided to go to her lab and placed some Mayu's items in her small closet. Mizuki then pulled out the small teddy bear from her bag and looked at it for a couple of minutes. Tadashi knocked on the door and entered Mizuki's lab. Mizuki turned around to see Tadashi, looking at her, slightly smiling. Mizuki smiled at Tadashi and went back to looking at the teddy bear. Tadashi saw the teddy bear that he gave to Mayu when she was still alive and remembered the memories they had together with Mizuki. "That's.... The teddy bear that i gave to Mayu when she was still alive..." Tadashi mentioned. Mizuki nodded and looked at Tadashi "yeah... She loved this teddy bear ever since you gave it to her..." Mizuki responded. Tadashi smiled slightly and approached Mizuki a little closer and gave her another comforting hug. Mizuki tried not to cry but failed. Her tears streamed down her face and soon got on Tadashi's shirt. "I see two people, giving each other a comforting hug." Said a voice "i agree. According to my research, people hug each other if they wanted to comfort them. Or simply, fancy them" said another voice. Mizuki and Tadashi jumped in shock, quickly pulled away and looked at where the voices came from. There, they saw two cat-figured bot and are both staring at them. "H-Haru? N-Neko??" Mizuki stuttered "i found an abandoned bot just like me, under a bed. I then decided to switch it on to have myself a new companion" said Neko. Mizuki slightly giggled and looked at the two "is that.... The bot that you gave to Mayu?" Tadashi asked as Mizuki nodded "i am Mayu's companion, Neko. I decided to follow Mizuki so that i wouldn't be abandoned in the hospital" Neko explained. Tadashi slightly smiled, knowing that the teddy bear, and the bot will be a remembrance from Mayu. "I'll be keeping this in my closet... To keep it safe" Mizuki mentioned about the teddy bear. Tadashi nodded and watched the bots as they played around Mizuki's lab.

Minutes later, Neko stopped and raised it's ears "i can sense a thermal energy approaching from that direction." Neko said as she pointed her paw at the door leading to the hallway. Mizuki and Tadashi looked at the door and carefully observed if Neko was telling the truth. Soon the door opened to reveal Honey Lemon and looked shocked when she saw Neko looking at her. Tadashi got impressed for the bot that they made, can sense almost anything around it. Mizuki smiled at Neko and approached Honey Lemon "is there something you need?" Mizuki asked politely as Honey Lemon smiled at her "nothing much. Just taking a break" Honey Lemon answered and smiled at Mizuki. Mizuki slightly giggled and let Honey come in. They soon talked and tried to brighten things up and somehow they succeed. "So, how was Hiro doing?" Mizuki asked "he's doing fine. He said that he's almost finish with his work and he'd be able to show it next week." Tadashi answered "oh, i'm so excited to know how it works!" Honey squealed. "Me too" Mizuki smiled. "I'll call you guys once he's done" Tadashi grinned. Mizuki and Honey Lemon nodded and giggled.
