Enjoy!

Davey laughed as Jack danced around carelessly, bumping into people. The music pumped into their ears, their bodies spinning and doing whatever they won't regret the next day. It was Davey's junior prom.

As a senior, and not a student of the school, Jack shouldn't be there. He wasn't even planning on going out on a Friday night—it's movie night. But Davey asked him and really wanted to go, and how could he say no?

"What are you doing?!" Davey giggled as Jack danced around him, looking like a madman. Their hair was bouncing around as they jumped, and the taller was positive they were gaining attention from their peers, but they didn't care. They were having fun.

"I'm dancing!" Jack grinned widely, glad he decided to come out tonight. Davey's large smile was definitely worth it, if not the loud music, good food, and all around vibe wasn't enough.

Davey couldn't help but to smile, though. Things were finally looking up. After moving to Jack's school, The World High School, he found himself missing the old ways of his old school. Although he's going miss his friends, he's glad to be back.

And things weren't so bad. It seemed that no one cared that he was gay. He wasn't pushed around in the halls, no one threw things at him or called him names—he was a regular student. A regular student going to junior prom with his boyfriend.

Jack grabbed Davey's hands as they danced to the music, twirling him and enjoying himself. He knew how hard it was for Davey here, and it's mostly the reason he moved. He even heard that Davey's old bully, Charlie, wasn't harassing him anymore.

The night was as young as they were, even if prom ended at 11:00. There was too much fun to care. That's when the moment everyone was waiting for started.

Junior Prom King and Queen, the highlight of the night. Those who were elected stood on the stage in their brightly colored dresses and sharp suits, looking down on the student body. It was a bit of a popularity contest, but people loved it.

The music stopped as everyone began to clap and cheer, Principal Devins walking onto the stage.

"Hello, ladies and gentlemen", she greeted, a large grin on her face. "It is now time for the moment you've all been waiting for: The crowning of your prom king and queen."

Jack and Davey clapped with the rest of the students, equally as excited. Principal Devins, a nice and tall older woman, turned to the young girl holding the crowns, grabbing one piece of paper from the pillow she held. "If we could please give a round of applause to your prom king..."

A tense silence hushed over the room, everyone hanging over those simple words. They watched as the principal opened the small sheet of paper, an unsurprised look on her face. "Charlie Harpner!"

The gym erupted into cheers as Jack and Davey clapped quietly, sending worried looks to each other. Jack could help but wonder what that kid did to deserve the title of prom king, but he also didn't care. Tonight was about having fun with Davey, and that's all he needed to worry about.

Principal Devins quieted the gym down, a grin still on her face. She cleared her throat and grabbed the small piece of paper, turning to the crowd with anticipation. "Now, after a tedious debate and run, your prom Queen of G.B. Academy is..."

Davey watched as the principal opened the note with so much excitement, her face falling when she saw the name. He didn't know why all of the happiness on her face flushed out of her so quickly, but he supposed it had to be one of the worst candidates up there, Candace Quinn.
