I'm posting this here because I know it will reach more people.

I don't care if you don't like politics, or if it makes you uncomfortable—imagine how I fucking feel knowing I could very much have my rights as not only a queer person, a citizen, or as a student, but as a human being stripped away from me. This is not the time to aim for comfortability. It's the time to stand the fuck up.

Since Biden is pausing his reelection campaign—I know—this Project 2025 thing can become a very real thing, so here's a brief on what it is exactly because it covers a lot of stuff, and Trump is claiming to have nothing to do with it.

(I'm basically adding onto chxrry_cxcaine 's announcement)

Project 2025 is a conservative/republican plan to, basically, attack the left. That's it. It takes away a lot of freedoms.

For one, the plan would increase the power of the president. He, in this case, would have power to directly implement policies. It also takes away job security for many government agents, and replaces those people with political appointees, like the FBI. It also would eradicate the Department of Education.

It affects immigration, and would actively fund the building of the border wall across Mexico, and would increase the policing in that area and make it more terrifying than it already is. This is obviously racially motivated because it doesn't cut off immigration completely, just in Mexico. This would be the "largest deportation programme in American history."

It harms the economy, with plans to cut off the research on renewable energy, and increase efforts on energy production, replacing carbon reduction goals. If you didn't think any of this affected you now, well it fucking does. The US has a very large amount of carbon emissions.

The plan doesn't call for a national ban on abortion—that's still up to the state. But it would stop the abortion pill, mifepristone, from being sold on the market, or even being produced at all. As far as this idea goes, not much would change from how it is now. That doesn't mean we still shouldn't fight to get the national right to this sector of healthcare back.

The plan calls for pornography to be banned, and parental control over schools (bad idea) in order to stop "woke propaganda". I imagine this doesn't only stop at eradicating the idea of accepting others for who they are despite their gender or sexuality, but also continuing what Florida is doing, and telling their students slavery wasn't that bad:/. It plans to end diversity, equity, and inclusion programs from schools, which would include BSU, GSA, and any other club or program similar to those.

The plan, if implemented, would deny the existence of trans people, undermine the rights of same-sex married couples, and take away services to the LGTBQIA+ community WHEREVER POSSIBLE. It also would protect adoption and foster care agencies that refuse to work with same-sex couples, which just increases the already high number of kids in foster care, would implement the support of biblically based families (mother, father, and too many damn kids), replace policies that support the queer community with those that support stable, married, nuclear families—so they're attacking single parents, too—and popularize the idea that children should be raised with their "biological" mothers and father because it's "essential to human nature" (which is just such a crock of ironic bullshit it's hilarious). This affects federal funds as well, with the funds going from LGBTQIA+ services, including gender affirming care, to the supporting what I mentioned above.

Guys, there is so much more to this. I'll post links under this rant, and in the comments. The original plan is over 900 pages, but I don't expect you to read all of that. Check out the links and other recommended left or Democratic sites. Read on it and find out what you're not being told about this plan.

If you're a history nerd like me, you know that this sounds familiar. Think facismo, failed communism, the goddamn Nazi regime—of course, the US isn't looking to max out it's living space (yet), but it is looking to stifle those deemed "wrong" for existing, much like all of those plans did before.

This is bad. It's absolutely terrible. It doesn't mean the end, though—the US is at a very vulnerable time right now, one not too dissimilar from the American Civil War. Democrats from California (woo!) have launched a Stop Project 2025 Task Force to counter it, and I have to have faith in that. There's not much else to have faith in.

I know I stand on a little bit of privilege as someone who lives in a notoriously blue state, but this affects me, too. It affects all of us. There's no point in acting like this isn't happening, there's no point in covering our eyes and pretending to disappear—we should've been acting on this before.

But guys, this isn't the verge of a revolution. This is the verge of civil war between the Left and the Right. Some republicans are willing to KILL, and one has even openly threatened the left.

Sign petitions, spread the word; do whatever you have to do. Make this KNOWN.

Your vote MATTERS. It really does. If you are able to, vote LEFT. Or encourage those you know to vote for the future of ALL Americans, not just the straight white male ones.
