At most of the parties Jack invited him to, Kid Blink never found himself seeking out anything more than a dance, maybe a make out session or two. Everything he ever did was above the belt, consensual, and stayed in the same realm  he found it in. Jack constantly berated him for this, claiming he was never going to be ready for a relationship if he didn't have the guts to see anyone for more than a few hours, but Blink didn't care. He wanted to be with someone special, not some random guy he'd met at a party.

But this, technically, wasn't a party. It was a wedding, one for Jack's boyfriend's sister. He and Davey weren't strangers; they had their moments where their jokes over went Jack's head, and he'd gone to him for advice before, but they weren't best friends, so it was a surprise when Blink had been invited to his sister's wedding as a plus one. Of course, that was completely Jack's fault—he's said every nicety one could say about Davey and yet never mentioned he had a sister. It was lazy on his part.

"Okay, look, I admit", Jack began, his hands held up in defeat, "I should've mentioned it. But you're here now, so you might as well enjoy yourself."

"Dude, I don't know anyone here", Blink whispered sharply, and Jack snorted. "Seriously, you should've said something, I would've come up with something to do."

"First, you know Katherine", Jack pointed out,  and Blink was gearing up the urge to slap him. "Second, stop being so lame! You can't just go from party to party making out with people as much as you please."

"I will make out with people as much as I damn well please." Jack rolled his eyes, but Blink continued. "And you're the one taking me to those-"

"Blink! I'm so glad you could make it", Katherine, dressed in a shorter white dress than her wedding gown, greeted with a smile, rushing to hug her friend. "I hope you're having fun. We tried to be considerate of everyone's wants and needs. You guys are okay, right?"

"Yeah, don't worry about us", Blink assured. "But you look beautiful. Your wedding was amazing."

It wasn't a complete lie, Katherine and her wife did look amazing, both together and as newly weds. The room was covered in various flowers, white drapes hanging from windows and tables adorned with a similar lace to Katherine's wedding dress. It did look like the wedding of someone's dreams, and that was the truth.

Blink simply withheld the information in which he was wondering how long it would take him to die alone, surrounded by not even a pack of cats. He supposed weddings always had different effects on people—for those already married, it was an excuse to party, and for those not married yet, it was like living in a Pinterest board. For everyone else, it was a reminder that life wasn't going how they wanted, and they resisted the urge to not spontaneously combust from envy.

It didn't help that he couldn't see some of it as much as he wanted. The way they were seated left Blink almost completely obscured from the left side of his face, so his neck was killing him from having to turn it to the front of the church, just to see Sarah and Katherine at the same time. It was just another thing he hated about weddings.

But Katherine did look amazing. "Thank you, we worked really hard. I have to go greet other guests, but you two have fun, okay?"

Jack and Blink graced her with gentle smiles and watched as she walked away, but only Blink's smile fell. Jack was too busy thinking over his plans for a future wedding. "I love weddings."

"I'm gonna die alone."

Jack turned to Blink with surprise, scoffing dramatically. "No, you're not! You just haven't found the right person yet. They'll come around."

"If I hear one more person say that, I'm gonna stab myself in my other eye", Blink muttered, and Jack wasn't sure if he completely disbelieved him. "I might as well buy my first cat now and call it a life."
