Aurora

He has been at the bar most of the night. My head is all over the place, Logan is surely only being nice to me because we slept together and he is my personal trainer.

But when he's watching me like this, sipping his beer slowly so he can be here longer, it's confusing.

I'm working the bar with Gavin again tonight as Gabby had plans with Dean. I haven't really spoke to her since the other day so I'm yet to fill her in on my situation with Logan.

Restocking the fridge I glance up in his direction and see some black haired woman hanging off his arm, whispering something in his ear while pushing her fake breasts into his chest. I should have known that's more his type of woman.

I turn away and bump into Gavin.

"Oh, sorry!"

"It's alright love." He chuckles. "You got some money sat at your side tonight." He nods behind me, I turn to look who he means.

"What do you mean?" My brows knit together.

"Logan Walker, ex footballer. His career got cut short when he had a bad injury."

My eyes nearly pop out of my head. I thought he had expensive taste, now it makes sense. Ex Footballer, of course.

"What happened?" I nervously ask Gavin.

"Snapped his ankle pretty bad, torn hamstring and a concussion. That's not even the worst part."

"It's not?" That sounds pretty bad to me.

"Nope, poor sod had a serious relationship at the time and when his football career was over his girlfriend left him for another player."

What the fuck.

"That's terrible." I shake my head.

"Yeah, not sure what he's up to now but he had it pretty rough for the last few years, went to therapy and everything." Gavin tells me. I feel bad knowing all of this and it not coming from Logan himself.

"How do you know all this?"

"It was all plastered online and in the papers, I'm surprised you didn't know."

I think back, I was in a bad place myself a few years ago so there's no wonder I didn't know about this. Trying to figure out what to do with my life, I had not long started working here and then my parents death happened on top of all that.

"No, I had no idea." I mutter as Gavin gets pulled away to serve.

My shift is nearly over, another 2am finish. I'm looking forward to having tomorrow off, Aunt Nicola is taking me and Iris out for lunch somewhere. She always get weekends off as she works as a receptionist in a local school.

Making sure I serve all the customers at my end of the bar, I tell Gavin I'm finishing.

Walking into the back to collect my things I get stopped by a hand on my arm. I pull away and look at who is trying to touch me.

"Have you finished your shift?" Logan shouts over to me. He looks so handsome tonight, my heart rate is excellerating just from his presence.

"Yeah."

"Did you need a ride home? I can take you."

"Oh no that's alright. I'm just gonna get an Uber."

"Aurora please, it's the middle of the night. Let me drive you home." He steps forward, closing the gap between us, I look up to his gaze.
