Aurora

'I would like to introduce you to her, if that's alright? Please stay and have lunch with us?'

Am I hearing him right? He wants me to meet his Mum? I'm wearing last night's clothes and I haven't even had chance to shower yet.

I can't. Not like this.

I gaze down at myself before looking back to Logan.

"I-" Shaking my head side to side.

"I can't. Not like this. I'm sorry." I tell him, motioning to my body.

I see his shoulders drop. Is he disappointed?

"Maybe some other time?"

He nods silently.

Gathering my things up, ready to leave, I start to take his shirt off.

"No, keep it-"

"It's alright-"

"Aurora please. Keep it." His eyes plead with mine.

I nod, slipping it back over my shoulders.

"There you two are, sorry to interrupt you but Logan here is going to cook lunch for us and I don't know about you, but I'm starving." Logan's mum enters the bedroom.

"You cook?"

"Oh yes he can, what are you making for us?"

"Actually, Aurora has to-"

"Maybe I can stay for lunch, and then I'll head out?" I cut him off. His wide eyes glaring at me while I speak.

"Come on then, let's go and eat." His mother says walking out of the bedroom.

"Are you sure this is ok?" Logan whispers to me once his Mum had left.

"Yes of course. Sorry I just got in my head a little-"

"No it's alright baby, I'm sorry too. I just really wanna tell my Mum about you, about us." He smiles, rubbing my arms.

"Well let's get out there then." I smile up to him as he placing a kiss on my cheek.

"So I'm Jane, Aurora is it?"

"Yes, Aurora Johnson." I smile at her.

She is a good looking woman, in her mid fifties. Her short brunette hair tucked neatly behind her ears and she is wearing a a beige midi dress with a cream blazer.

"And what do you do for a living dear?"

"I work as a bartender."

She just nods and doesn't ask me anything else. I get the feeling like she isn't too happy with my choice of work. I look down at my food, the chicken risotto Logan made is beyond delicious.

"I actually met Aurora at the bar where she works, Lilac Lounge."

"And when was this?"

"Couple of months ago now."

Jane's eyes go wide and I'm confused as to why.

"We have been hanging out and talking since then. I'm actually her Personal Trainer too."

"Oh. How old are you Aurora?"

"Mum!"

"What! I just want to get to know her!"

Logan mutters under his breath as I look up to answer Jane.

"I'm 23."

"And you know Logan is 30. Soon to be 31."
