You cant hang out with him because your busy with school/work

Harry: There's no way you can get out of studying for your exam at the end of the week. You've already put off studying in favor of spending time with Harry and you can't afford to put off studying any longer. Harry's disappointed to learn you can't hang out until after your exam. There's a knock at your dorm door, Harry on the other side with coffee and note cards. He spends the rest of the week in your dorm room, helping you make flow charts and note cards for your exam; supplying you with coffee and kisses when you get tired or stressed.

Liam: You've had to cancel your date with Liam because you were called in to work. You're sitting behind the library desk at university, working on your homework for the night when Liam appears at the desk. "I was hoping you could point me to the restricted section," he teases and you giggle quietly. At the end of your shift, he helps you re-stock the bookshelves after you've showed him how to do it and he does surprisingly well. He helps you shut everything off, wiping off tables and tossing out trash before walking you back to your dorm.

Niall: You're sad when you call Niall to cancel your date, telling him you've been called into work at the boutique. You've been there for two hours, going over inventory and helping customers when the bell above the door dings. Niall smiles as he steps into the shop, handing you a coffee before leaning against the counter. He sees that your stressed being by yourself, unable to do everything by yourself. You instruct him on what to do with the boxes of accessories and clothes, glancing at him out of the corner of your eye as you help a customer. He's very concentrated on the task he volunteered for, making sure to hang everything in its rightful place. At the end of the day when your boss returns, you press a thankful kiss to your boyfriends jaw while promising to thank him properly later.

Louis: You had been trying to remodel your bathroom for months now, but it was really hard because of all the time you were spending with your boyfriend on his days off. Lou never had a lot of free time so when he did you were always there to spend it with him which set you finishing your renovating back significantly. He had been on a mini tour this week and you were trying your best to get everything finished before he got back the next day. You had pulled an all-nighter painting and hanging fixtures but it just wasn't enough time. Lou was back and you knew he was going to call you soon to hang out. You were so close however that you were just going to have to tell him that it would have to wait until tomorrow. Actually telling him that you wouldn't be able to hang out with his went a lot smoother than you thought, mainly because he immediately headed over to help. You hadn't suggested he help because he wasn't exactly the handiest person but you could use the help on the final touches and he was definitely willing to be that help. He helped with whatever you needed. He painted, put the plumbing back together (with major help from you), and even installed the new vent you had bought with minimal looks at the directions. It took the two of you several more hours to finish everything but you were so happy with the results. The two of you spent the next few days at your house, but mainly because Lou wanted a constant reminder of his handiwork.

Zayn: You had told him you wouldn't be able to hang out with him because you had finals in the morning and you needed to study. He volunteered his helping services but you were reluctant to agree. As it turns out he actually helped you study and kept you on task when you wanted to wander away from studying. He went over everything with you until you got it, not leaving a question until you knew the answer and could explain why that answer was the right one. He was actually the perfect study partner.
