Chapter 33

Seojoon was seated in front of his quarter's patio when he felt that Taehyung quietly came in. While the old Alpha looked far out into his garden, he calmly said,

"It's been a while since you came into my quarters without being summoned. Is there anything you need?"

With his hands in his pockets, Taehyung stopped and just stood behind Seojoon. He said in his deep voice, "I'd like to know why-- why are you going to stop taking your shots?!"

Seojoon smirked a bit, "Wasn't that something that would work in your favor? Didn't you always wish for me to die?!"

Taehyung remained silent. His fists were clenched into a ball inside his pockets.

Then Seojoon stood up and turned to face his son, "Taehyung-ah, I only endured living this way because I'd like to see you bonded with Seokjin first. It's the only thing I've been waiting for. Now that it has happened, I can leave peacefully."

Taehyung gulped slightly and forced his eyes to hold the tears he's been hiding. Then he took a deep breath and licked his lips - he looked away and said,

"How is it different from before? Nothing has changed with me or my powers. Not that I really care about it, as long as I'm already bonded with Seokjin, I'm all good with that. Therefore, just continue what you do. I don't see a reason for you to stop your meds."

"Son, I am old. I've been around for quite some time now. And the shots are taking its toll on me. Sooner or later, my health will fade. The pack won't need me anyways, because you are already here with your Luna. I won't be of any help to the pack nor the company anymore."

Taehyung looked back at Seojoon directly again, with gritted teeth - as if holding back himself from erupting, he said firmly, "Then just-- just.. just stay longer for me!! Just be here for me!! I'll take care of the pack. B-but I would still n-need you here!"

The young Alpha couldn't control his tears anymore, hence he just let them stream down his face.

Not long that Seojoon was shedding his tears too. He walked closer to Taehyung and said, "You will be fine on your own, son. You have Seokjin by your side now. Therefore, there is nothing that you won't be able to do.

You'll be the greatest Alpha. You are the greatest Alpha leader. And I am beyond proud of you, son."

"No!! As the pack's leader, I command you to continue your shots as long as your b-body can take them! Or-- or better yet, find an Omega to mate w-with!! That's-- that's an o-order from me!!" Taehyung shouted, stuttering with his words as he sobbed.

Seojoon welled up with tears, but he smiled at his son. He whispered, "I don't take orders from my successor."

Taehyung sighed, then he said softly, "Then-- I am asking you to do so.. not as the pack's leader, but as your son. Please-- stay longer for me.. f-father.."

Seojoon burst into tears as he quickly pulled Taehyung for an embrace. The young Alpha cried against his chest, as he brushed Taehyung's hair. He then said, "You could've just said so in the first place, you stubborn punk!!"

Taehyung chuckled softly, then he pulled back from his father's arms. He wiped his tears with his sleeves, then he said,

"I still have a long way to go. And I will do better if I know that you are still here with me, father. Forgive me, please. Forgive me for all the times I've hurt you, doubted you, disobeyed you and ignored you.

I was stupid. And a big fool. I didn't know happiness until I completely accepted Seokjin in my life. And you are the only one I have, father. So before it's too late, please let me share this happiness with you too."
