Chapter 40

"Are you sure these are enough?!" Taehyung asked Hoseok as the latter placed a dozen of different brands of pregnancy kits on his desk.

Hoseok took a deep breath before answering, "Tae, one or two is enough, I told you. These two are the most reliable brands. But why do you need twelve??"

"So we can be sure. I don't want Seokjin to get depressed when the kits show an incorrect result!"

"You said his scent changed. You are his Alpha - you're supposed to be sure about it. No one or nothing else can tell for sure but you!" Hoseok argued.

"Are you saying that I am an incompetent Alpha to my Luna?!" Taehyung suddenly said in a low tone.

Hoseok cleared his throat as he can feel his Omega was backing down, "T-that's not what I said. I'm sorry. All I'm saying is-- you don't need these things in the first place. As you know your Luna's body more than anyone else. So just trust your instincts, okay?"

Taehyung let out a deep breath, then he leaned his back on his chair,
"I guess I'm overreacting. I just-- I didn't think of this carefully. All I just wanted was to knot and mate with him. I didn't even ask if he's ready for something like this already. We're not even married yet.

I should've given him the decent process, you know - propose to him, marry him and only then we can start a family. I just-- I feel like I have let him down as his Alpha. I've been watching him for years, but still I'm not prepared."

Hoseok pressed his lips together and thought of the right things to say. He was actually surprised that Taehyung was open to him about these things - as he's normally not someone who would share his thoughts or feelings.

"Uhm- I don't think that's the only way how to express your sincerity towards Seokjin. Namjoon and I-- we didn't start properly too. But I can say we are very happy now. Therefore, getting the process right isn't everything, Tae. As long as you love each other, I'm sure your Luna will be happy to learn this news if he really is pregnant."

Taehyung looked at Hoseok for a while, then he just nodded. "Okay, thank you for that. I appreciate your help today, Hoseok. I will let Seokjin take one later. I'm hoping to share good news during dinner. You may go."

Hoseok just flashed a lip-tight smile and headed out of Taehyung's home office.

As soon as the door closed, Taehyung took a very deep breath, closing his eyes as he rested his head on his chair's backrest. Then he muttered to himself softly, "But he hasn't told me yet that he loves me. What if he doesn't?! Will he be happy with the news?!"

"Tae?! Tae!!"

Jin hurriedly dashed into his shared bedroom with Taehyung, hoping to talk to him right away after what he and Jimin did to confirm their suspicion.

When he saw Taehyung standing on the balcony, he ran there and embraced his Alpha tight.

"Seokjin--" Taehyung was surprised, but he placed the glass of whiskey in his hand on the round table at his reach then hugged his Luna in return.

Then Jin leaned back to stare at Taehyung's eyes. "Tae, do you notice anything different about me??"

"Y-yes, I do."

Jin smiled, "Y-you already know?!"

Taehyung nodded and smiled slightly.

Jin's big smile slowly fell, he bit his bottom lip, then he softly said, "Y-you're not happy about it.."

Taehyung's eyes widened and quickly cupped Jin's cheeks, "No! I am-- of course, I am happy about it, my love."

"Then why do you look like you are too worried?!"
