Dark clouds casted over the sky like a shadow. despite the early morning, everything around you seemed dark.

You had been here for hours, but for you it felt only like a couple minutes-despite your aching legs. You tugged at your jacket, pulling the dark blue cloth tighter over your body to escape from the cold as a gust of wind blew browned leaves into view.

Her name made guilt rise in your stomach, no matter how many times you had seen it on the news recently.

Stella Grace Y/L/N

You knew it wasn't your fault, or at least that's what everyone told you. People would say it was mere coincidence and that you did everything you could, but no matter what, it didn't convince you of anything other then the fact your sister was dead because of you.

Your parents refused to speak to you after the funeral. It stung at first but after loosing everyone in your life in the span of a year, it started to feel normal. That feeling of loneliness somehow now brought comfort to you, knowing you couldn't hurt anyone besides yourself.

"How long?" A voice asked, snapping your mind back into place.

You turned your head, your hair moving to the back of your neck as you tugged further on your beanie to cover your head-keeping it from the flurries that sprouted above.

The man was dressed in an old black t-shirt and jeans, his hair and beard grown out to his shoulders.

"Excuse me?" You questioned, your voice soft.

"How long has she been gone?" He questioned.

You breathed. "Three weeks today." You felt the waterline on your eyes grow moist and cold while your vision became blurry as you wiped your eyes. "Uh, what about you?"

"8 months." He nodded. "My wife, my daughter, and my son."

You felt your heart drop. Here you where thinking you had it rough when this man had lost his entire family. "I- I'm so sorry."

"I wasn't asking for sympathy." He shook his head. "I was just answering a question."

You stared at the man for a moment before looking forward at Stella's grave again. You didn't know how to continue a conversation after hearing something like that, something so God awful.
